    Is there anybody here in this forum with HIGH mileage Tacoma who has never changed out or so called flushed (replaced) their ATF transmission fluid????????????

    If so;
    How many miles in your taco?

    How is your taco running now, the tranny I mean?

    Anybody against replacing the tranny fluid in a high mileage Tacoma that has never been replaced before since stock?

    thanks for your feedback folks.....

    Not cherry red like new fluid but dark red and does not smell burned after 132k miles now. I have never offroad or pulled anything heavy since the day I bought her.

    Transmission "flushes" can be a touchy subject with some people. I've experienced transmission flushes on older vehicles with high mileages to be bad because it loosens up dirt/debris in the transmission and newer fluid could make the clutches slip more (so ive been told). My 2005 Tacoma had 102,000 on it when I flushed it and it never had any problems after I did the flush. Would I do it again?? prob not, especially if I didn't know the maintenance prior to 132k. My wife has 190k on her Nissan pathfinder and ive never flushed or did a drain and refill and it runs fine. My 2010 Tacoma has a 6spd manual and I change the oil out every 30k, but then again, its a manual and is a different creature and takes different oil. That auto trans. fluid is expensive as S**t and has to be the exact Toyota brand World Standard if im not mistaken. Plus the dealer raped me for like 180 bucks for a "flush". Hell, I don't even know if they did it!
