love this thread, i like reading your updates and love you take feedback.

one thing i was wondering is, would it be possible to have the ambient temp on a standalone unit to where we could mount it outside the vehicle. giving the end user has to buy the wire and run it. that way for the less fortunate (myself :D), could have the reading since some don't have the factory overhead display?

you may have answered that, but i don't recall reading it in this thread.

Hmm...well, it wouldn't be very easy with the current board configuration: it assumes that all signals are coming from that little sensor board.

There are a couple input pins that I'm not using on the big ATMEGA chip, however, so you could conceivably solder wires from another sensor directly to them and then update the software to read that when you go to the Temperature option instead of the built-in sensor. So it'd be some manual work, but possible!

But I'll keep it in mind for a future option, maybe Version 2.0!

I watched the latest video, it's like watching Bill Gates invent computers in his garage, only Rob is inventing this inclinometer for our truck and is gonna be a millionare before it's all over. You're gonna go so far! Don't forget us on TW when you're rich and famous!

hahaha Thanks man! :) If only I could be so lucky! If I get as rich as Bill Gates I'll buy everyone on the board the latest Tacoma. It'll probably be the 2054 model, but better late than never. :)

I bet this could somehow be installed inside the auto dimming mirror with display, the entire glass is like a one way mirror. If you put illumination right behind the glass it'll shine through.

I've got the first pass at the included instructions, would anyone like to take a look? If you notice any glaring errors or a section that's confusing, please let me know!

    "tolerances"

An incident this weekend made me think of a necessary feature :D

It would be good to be able to view stored min/max values for the inclinometer similar to the way you can for altitude.

For some strange reason when a vehicle is at or near it's tipping point, the driver's list of priorities seems to put "look at the inclinometer" somewhere near the bottom. As a result, questions like "Dude! How tipped were you?!" are met with answers like "Hell if I know! I'm going to go change my pants!" rather than a much more scientific answer like "I was pitched at 30.6 degrees with a roll of 45.7 degrees, thanks for asking"
