Early this summer I sold my restored/modded FJ40 that I used to show and occasionally take off road. Told my wife I just wanted a nice double cab with cool wheels and tires on it. I bought this truck in July and loved everything about it except the steel wheels with chrome hubcaps. Last week I was ordering tires for my wife's Venza and asked my rep at tire rack how much a set of Dick Cepek torque wheels in gunmetal would be. It was a deal I couldn't pass up so I bought them. And when I told my wife the next day she asked me why I didn't just buy tires too.... I figured I would have been in the doghouse. So I called back and bought some General Grabber HTS tires in 265/70/16. My off roading days are behind me and gas mileage is pretty important with my commute. Otherwise I probably would have gone with another set of Grabber AT2's like I ran on my first 05. I really like the way it looks. I initially thought these wheels looked really busy but after seeing the black version on another members truck I really liked them. But I'm not too into the whole black wheel thing. Mounted/balanced them yesterday at work and put them on last night. I like it. Looks good and smooth as can be going down the highway.

Truck looks real good .Nice wheel/tire setup . I just got rid of my steel wheels too. You can really feel the differance how the truck drives with alloys compared to the stock steel wheels.

Looks good. I am going to ditched the steel rims very soon and hoping to change to 17" black rims:D

As for the ATS tires, can you put the white lettering inside or they exist both sides of the tire?

So how exactly does a truck drive different with alloy wheels versus steel ones? Sounds a little bogus to me. In a blind test, would you be able to tell every time by the way the truck drives whether or not it had alloy wheels or steel wheels?

Wheels look great! I'm stuck between those or DC-2s. Any issues with figment or rubbing? Torques have a bit more backspacing vs DCs. I'm with you on the all black rims...
