You know, it was a Panasonic. I was amazed when I took it out and saw the build date, which is why it stuck in my memory. I couldn't believe that it could have made it nearly 11 years. And the truck saw both extremes; it started out life in Phoenix, AZ (extreme heat), then came to Maine in '07 (extreme cold).
    Baffling.

I have absolutely no hope of seeing that kind of life out of the Battery in the '10. Too many loads...

I changed mine after 5 years - and it was still perfectly fine. I just figured it was 'time'

I bought a Toyota 84 month battery - figuring, it SHOULD be as good and last as long as the original one. Well....that 84 month battery isn't even 2 years old and I'm taking it to the dealer today to have it (and my system) load tested. Truck wouldn't start the other night after work. Didn't have enough high-end amps to start it. Thank God for having jumper cables and fellow employees to help you out. I'm predicting a bad battery....but we'll see. Nothing has changed in regards to 'load draw' ...??

In my 2009 mine did too but I was well beyond mileage. Battery in 2004 Sportrac went 6 years. I gave had Motorcraps that did not make 1.

Just died today. 2005/2004 til today.

I was trying to get the 2150 Odyssey batterys from battery plus or Amazon. The specs were exact according to the stats I looked at so I got the X2 Power 31 from Batterys plus.
He claimed the only difference was the manufacturer was Northstar vs Odyssey's manufacturer (I forget who, johnston controls maybe?)

329 vs the 479 - I HOPE these are what they are suposed to be and not a fill the void battery. 48 months warranty on the X2 vs what I was told as 24 months on the Odysseys.

Was looking at these, -> Diehard Platimum 31M
    http://www.sears.com/diehard-platinum-marine-battery-group-size-31m-price/p-02850131000P
    then these -> Odyssey 31M PC2150
    http://www.odysseybattery.com/battspecs.html
    Also these X2 Power 31M
    http://www.batteriesplus.com/produc...-X2-Power-Batteries/106976-Marine_RV/AGM.aspx

I read some of the direct Comparisons to the Diehard vs the Odyssey's. They claimed the Odyssey was still coming out on top.

Spec for Spec, on paper, The X2 31M & Odyssey 31M PC2150 were coming out the same.
Weight, CCA, AH, L x W x H (fraction of an inch off) etc.

I understand they are NOT the same batterys. I was also reassured that within a certain period of time, if I wanted the ODYSSEY's, I could return the ones I got to Batterys PLUS>

I do agree though. they were a bit OFF. Lied or otherwise to me.

On another note, is there a dual battery thread here yet? Where people show off the Dual Battery setups they are running?

'08 and on 3rd battery. First two were OEM 29 months first time and 25 the second time. Both tested bad, but hadn't let me down (yet). Went with one from Autozone this time

My stock battery lasted from feb 2006 to jan 2013? That is also with a 15 month deployment where I'm sure the army didn't disconnect the battery for me while in storage(cranked right up when I got back) then an 11 month deployment( same conditions as previous) had to have it on a charger for an hour. This was in July 2010 and finally died in jan 2013

Just got rid of my original 07 battery. It would have lasted longer but I drained it completely by accident

Not the taco but previous car was a camry. The battery was in the car when I bought it and it lasted 7 years of me owning it. I finally had to change the battery only because it wouldn't start if I had the a/c selector switch on. If I shut the a/c off, it fired up just fine.

Wife's 2006 4Runner has the original Panasonic battery, only 39K miles and garage-kept. It spent the first 4 years in Texas heat. It tested OK a couple years ago, but on the low side of OK. It seems fine and we had a mild summer, so it may make it through another winter.

Might be a dumb question but would hooking a trickle charger(battery tender) benefit the battery in a Tacoma. I like to keep my vehicles maintained well. I have a bike that is still on original battery from 2005, while my friend has been thru a few batteries in that time. My Tacoma will be my winter/rainy day vehicle so it will have a lot of down time during summer. Would putting it on a battery tender on it help?
