Somewhere on this site I saw a pic of a Tacoma with a home made sleeping set up in the bed. In addition they had what looked like a home made blind/shade for the side window/windows of the cap. Anyone have any pics or ideas for this type of set up. Wouldn't have to be anything fancy just enough to block out the direct sun or external lighting at night. Velcro? Glue on hooks? Quick roll up and storage?

On my previous Tacoma I had picture hangers mounted on the bolts holding the windows in place. I then sewed some curtains to fit, strung them on a piece of paracord and tied them to the hangers. A bit time consuming, but easy.

On the new Tacoma I use Velcro to hold them to the carpet inside the camper shell. It's not the best thing for the carpet though so when I get off my lazy butt I' plan to install some flat aluminum curtain rods that are through bolted to the shell. For an idea what I'm talking about google a picture of the curtains on the sliding door of a VW camper bus.

Personally I like the blackout cloth since it makes it easier to stealth camp, but a set of felt or wool curtains would be a bit warmer in the winter (a buddy of mine made his curtains out of an old army blanket).

I think it was over on the Expedition forum that I saw a shell that was insulated with Reflectix. The guy also used it to make window covers. You can get it at the big box hardware stores and Ace has it in 2' x 10' rolls.
