Toyota loves Chi Town to debut New Trucks. There history proves Chicago is there place to debut the Tundra and Taco. The New Taco should be at a point were we should start seeing it on the streets testing. I will keep my eyes on any Test Mules here in The North/West Phoenix area as I have seen Tundra and Sequoia's in the past all Covered in Camo before they were released with redesign's. Not sure if the Taco would be tested here or not. Maybe in Cali. There are a few proving grounds out this way and we always see test mules driving around. Just hope the Taco doesn't get Butchered. My Camera will be ready.:spy:

Looking at the Chicago Auto show page here: http://www.chicagoautoshow.com/vehicles-on-display/2014/toyota/tacoma/

It looks like they will be showing the 2014 Tacoma this year. Under the "Debut Vehicles" drop-down, you'll see the 2015 models being shown by various manufacturers.

Then with this comment here: http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/304698-will-hold-off-2015-a-5.html#post8010770
(if reliable), would also indicate no Gen 3 for 2015.

I concur that we would have seen some more rumors / leaks by now if it was happening, eh?

EDIT: A Caveat, though -- when would a new design be required to meet updated emissions standards? Is there a deadline on the wall in the U.S.?

I agree that Chicago would be the place for a new Tacoma, but I don't think it will be this year. Toyota is releasing the TRD Pro at Chicago and I don't think they would show the TRD Pro as a 2014 model while debuting the 2015. Just my thoughts on it. I am curious about the TRD Pro though.

Agreed. Thought for Sure it would B this year. Very Bummed...Even my Buddy is a Toyota Tech and he was told by engineers that the 2015 Taco would have Different Motor (Direct Injection) and Body Lines. Is the 2014 TRD PRO Tacoma a Swan Song for the current 2nd Gen. Not looking like there is a New Taco in 2015. Sorry...

Just spoke with my dad who is in the industry and his contacts at Toyota say 2015 is a minor-revision year.

I wonder what the changes will be. I wouldn't expect anything in the engine or transmission department if they said "minor" revisions.

This would look better all black with no chrome, and why doesn't it come with heated seats, and mirrors, and a diesel engine, and lifted with better shocks, and trimmed mud flaps and a thing that opens and closes the back window. uh what else --- and bigger tires ---Oh well--.;)...Oh and one other thing please send pictures

Just one more. I imagine the Tacoma doesn't get a lot of love being a North America specific product (not sold anywhere else in the world). Probably doesn't get the engineering budgets that Camry, Corolla, and RAV4 type vehicle lines do.

The day the Diesel arrives is the day my Oilers win the cup...or at least make the playoffs, I Can't wait for a diesel to come, I had a 91 Hilux for a couple years, was a great off-roader, but I sold it when the turbo started to give me issues and was blowing oil into my intake!!

I moded 1999 Taco so much it had turned to Land Cruiser
If not broken, don't fix it.
I think Toyota decided current setup is good so no need to tinker. I would agree. They should get more refining done, and continue.
The only other toyota vehicle continued past 10 year mark with out major revision was FJ70. No doubt. It's a statement to Tacoma's dominance.
