Does anyone know the wire extraction / insertion tool that Toyota uses? Particularly the climate control harness/small plug? Do they use the same extraction tool across the entire platform?

    As seen in this thread:
    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2n...climate-control-pod-burnt-connection-fyi.html

Also, on the small plug, the type of female crimp?

Not needed yet (knock on wood) but it may be necessary to repair this connection soon before it shorts out again. My husband works in electronics and can easily repair these things if he has the right tools & parts.

I tried calling two different dealers and they refuse to give information. They refer you to a Toyota website that you have to subscribe to.

Other searches I've done...people using typical picks/screwdrivers.... but I'd rather not make this a hack job. THANKS!

Too many to list, and I've probably forgotten a bunch.
    Go here:

Look at page 11. It appears you have to make one tool, and there's also a special service tool you can get.

These folks might be able to help you get the SST mentioned:

Otherwise, a dental pick is a perfectly acceptable tool to use for something like this. It's really my go-to tool for unpinning connectors like this. A little care, and you won't mangle anything.
