I have heard this noise a couple of times but have finally found a spot to recreate it. When at a full turn to the left turning into my driveway there is a small dip causing some suspension travel but not enough to bottom out and I hear what sounds like metal on metal sound. Only happens on passenger side mainly turned full left sometimes full right.

My truck has a toytech 3'' spacer lift running 255/70 R 16 tires.

Previous owner said he took it off road a little in North Carolina and I have done just maintained dirt roads.

    Any help with the noise?

    EDIT:

Found the noise. I believe that it is the steering stops that dont line up correctly.

The upper part that red arrow points at hits the blue arrow dead center. From what I can see when I hit a bump at full turn these realign correctly and make the metal on metal popping noise. Thanks for everyones input into my noise issue.

Check the steering stops for signs of rubbing. It is normal if you turn at a full lock.

I have checked that and there is no obvious signs of rubbing. The noise only occurs when the suspension is compressed during the turn. Its like a metal on metal rubbing/popping

I did forget to add that I had a minor accident that bent my steering knuckle on the passenger side but I had that fixed with all new parts on the passenger side related to the accident. Could the shop out something on wrong?

Check your swaybar near the spring for rub marks...could be hitting due to your lift

I had a similar issue and found it to be the lower control arm cam bolts not tightened. Give that a check. My buddy and I sat in my driveway and rolled over a 2x4 with the wheel cranked to come to that conclusion.

Checked LCA and sway bar no sings of rubbing. Any other places that could possibly be making noise?
