Powder Coated wheels

Dropped my new '13 summer OEM wheels(Machined Ballistic Havoc's for winter) off at a Local Custom wheel shop to be powder-coated flat black...Owner told me about this 'new process' of laying some carbon fiber looking material onto the wheels after media blasting, and dipping them in something(not sure what),to get the material to adhere under an electrical charge, then powder coat (multiple applications) with a Blackish/gray color, then clear coat...Wasn't sure if I was game until he showed me a Harley-Davidson they did for H-D show...AWESOME RESULTS....Can't wait to get 'em back, and onto some Grapplers...$200 per wheel, not bad for a one of a kind Mod....Pic's to come..!!

hydro-dipping?

 

Hydrographics is what it sounds like to me. Not sure if you are mixing up that and powder coating into one thing or not. I would hope it is something more than hydrographics because at $200 a wheel you got ripped off for hydro.

 

I figure if I get $200 for each of my ex wives rings, it'll pay for my $800 wheels..#simplemath
