06 tacoma went for a swim. water did not get in the intake and truck stayed running in about 24-28'' of water for about 30 minutes. AFTER it was out of the water it died. it restarted for an
bout another minute and died again. ive checked all fuses and they are all fine. Truck turns over but wont even try to start. Any ideas?

Wait for it to dry out. Check your fuses.

I love when people try to "estimate" what the water level was when they sunk their truck. Usually using words like "only x inches" or "Barely even to the hubs". The reality is usually far worse :p

You should have shut it off. This happened with my old chevy and we had to tow it out and remove the spark plugs to crank it over and all the water spit out. I can't reccomend it on a toyota because i've never done it on one before

Try to pull the Neg battery cable off for a minute or two. I just drowned mine and it had some weird faults.
    1) Crank position sensor
    2)02 sensors lean condition
a bunch of other emissions stuff. I reset the codes and it started right up, sputtered for a few minutes, and has ran fine since.

It didn't get in the intake. Didn't shut it off because I didn't want the exhaust to fill up and cause more pressure when trying to restart it. The front of the truck was sitting about mid rim deep. The back was about mid tail lights

24" to 28", thats not even above the tires. I've had water over my hood before. Granted not for 30min but hell it gets wetter than that in the rain. Unless thats really the op's truck in the above pic then um, oh boy!

Is it actually showing check engine light, if so then you will need a OBD scanner to reset them.

Guess I wasn't really thinking of a truck when I left it running. When I stick a 4wheeler its common to leave it running because the exhaust fills and you hafta stand them up to drain the exhaust to get them to start easier

It's not a dodge or a ford truck. That's surprising.

I'd get one of them industrial blowers they use to dry carpets and crank that puppy up for a couple hours pointed under front end of truck. Remove all spark plugs in meantime and dip them in gasoline then light them on fire and reinstall. I have no idear what I am talking about but I seen it in a movie once. Can't remember if it worked. Then you take it to local stealership and trade her in for a model year newes with less miles before it rusts like crazy.

You can use a scanner, or remove the battery cable for a couple minutes like I said. Try it.

I'm just curious how that guy got it there?
