Anybody having bluetooth issues with Ios7?

    I tried searching, I hope this isn't a repost!

I'm not entirely sure if this issue it directly related to ios7, but I'm having an issue with playing music via bluetooth. Since having the truck (approx 8 months), I've had no issues. Now, whenever I hop in the truck the bluetooth will connect but it will display "unknown song, unknown artist, unknown album" and just play nothing. I have to manually pick a song, whether it's Slacker radio or using Music app. Once a song is playing I can't switch songs using the headunit or the steering wheel controls. Has anybody had an issue similar to this, whether using ios7 or earlier??

Also, since I have made a thread I'll throw one more quick question. I have my iphone 5 set up to show notifications. My brothers 2013 4runner SR5 (non JBL) actually displays the text while mine (2013 Tacoma Limited w/JBL) just shows "New text message". Is there any way for it to display it?

    Thanks for any help!

I am having the same problem, I have iPhone4 and 13' SR5. before phone would connect automatically and start playing whatever was playing last. Now it connects but will not start playing automatically. Additionally I cannot use the next / last track or pause play on the steering wheel or dash unit.

If I want to change a song I have to manually do it on the phone.

I've had something similar on android when playing Amazon mp3. It seems the truck only likes to recognize song titles from the native music player, and it may have difficulty recognizing the new updated music player. I have only had this problem with the displayed info however, it always plays the music no matter what app im using. Good luck hope I could help. Check an iphone forum perhaps?

You have to re pair the truck and phone. Worked fine for me.

I had bluetooth problems before Ios 7. I couldn't and still can't connect to make phone calls when synced as an Ipod. Even when I connect with the USB I get an error code and can't play any music. So all I do is use bluetooth for handsfree calls only. I can do live with it.

I had something similar but mine plays music and sends calls fine. Shows album artwork, artists, etc. with no problem. The problem is that sometimes when I get a phone call it doesn't ring through the speakers or even say I have gotten a call and I have to answer it on the phone and then select car multimedia as the Bluetooth device.

I reconnected the phone and it fixed it until I turn the car off an back on again. Annoying. Haha

I've had somewhat of a similar problem. I use the stitcher radio app and it used to continue playing where I left off via bluetooth. Now I have to manually start whatever podcast I'm listening to on the phone itself before it begins playing on my stereo. Hopefully it's just an ios7 thing and an easy fix with a software update.

Train by day Joe Rogan podcast by night...all day! :headbang:

Mine doesn't respond to the next track on the steering wheel using Pandora anymore even when wired in through the USB. I also use the Denon iPod app sometimes and if I turn the truck off it not only doesnt start back up, it requires me to go back choose a playlist all over again.

My iTunes Radio won't skip songs when I use my steering wheel controls.

I had the same issue when I upgraded to 7. I dropped the phone from the radio and re-paired then hard reset my phone. No issues since.

Just did this to mine. Seems to be working now...I've only driven it twice since doing it, but we shall see how it works here...will update in a week.
