Sounds horrific. At least it didn't go any higher.

What about when your driving? bees can get in then too.

As for the bug deflector, It kinda defeats the purpose of protecting the hood when the deflector damages the hood while its on the truck.

i dont think there is any way taking that bug deflector off has given you MPG's. they are supposed to lift the wind over the hood and also windshield as some of those things claim. if it wasnt on the car the hood and windshield would do it on its own. No savings possible in my opinion

I think that there is a tiny. i mean TINY difference in drag, but i agree i cant see any fuel savings that you could notice related to it. I have run them both ways myself and never noticed.

The only good thing window visors are for is if you fart and it's raining. Unless you are the "bask in your filth" type. Hood mustaches are good for protecting against rock chips right at the edge of the hood but otherwise don't do anything for bugs or rocks that make it over.

They are also good for us degenerates of the world... cigarette smokers. Although I have determined that the door mounted switches must be water resistant because I have gotten them soaked while stuck at a light sucking down a lung dart.

Yep, I think after a tank and a half I agree with you. Also, I'm convinced it's louder with it off. I don't have any type of decible reader to know for sure but driving it back to back with it off and on it sure seems quieter with the deflector on.

Plus, just me but I like the look on mine so I'm keeping it.

Traditional bug-deflectors (the simple flat kind) may be more effective, but bug deflectors are definitely supposed to help create a more effective wind-stream over your hood and window, not merely protect the small area the physical deflector puts under shade.

But you won't really know unless you get some wind tunnel tests. I couldn't find any visual wind-tunnel tests for our tacs and compatible bug deflectors on short notice.

I'll probably end up getting the more favored bug deflector at some point. I am also not -that- curious, since I would use the deflector regardless, but it's food for thought!
