Poll: Bug deflectors and rain deflectors

Just curious on feedback, thinking of removing my bug deflector and putting on rain deflectors. Aesthetics-wise what would you guys say?

 

I don’t like the looks of bug deflectors, and i don’t think they work very well for the most part.

I do love the in channel rain/vent visors! i have the AVS brand I got them used off a local member.

 

love the rain deflectors, good for keeping the sun out of your eye too! I highly recommend them, not bug deflectors though. It just looks stupid (Opinion), but I heard they also damage the vehicle paint (fact).

 

I should've made the in channel and outside options in the poll. I didn't even know you could get the in channels for tacomas

 

yeah you can i think all the brand are around $60 or so. i have some pic in my build thread of mine.

 

Weather Tech makes some. Came stock on my previous Sport.

I've had the Weather Tech rain deflectors for about two years and love them. Don't care for the bug deflectors and agree with Zach, they don't really work IMHO.

 

I say none, I hate the way they look...

That said, those rain deflectors sure are convenient. Maybe when I hit 60 they will be a little cooler.

 

I had both on my Gen 1 that i just sold and thought they looked good. The rain deflectors back then were stuck to the outside of the window. Mine were Weathertech and did great for the 10 years i had the truck.

On my new 2013 TRD Sport i don't think the bug deflector looks as nice given the hood layout and the scoop. I did go with Weathertech in channel rain deflectors and I think they look great. I read the reviews here and made sure that I installed them properly and have been very pleased so far. They've only been on a few weeks.

 

I vote for the in-channel vent visor. Allows me to leave the windows cracked on a hot day, rain or not. Definitely helps keep the interior cooler. Not a fan of the bug deflectors. Go with the inchannel vs. the stick-on vent visors for a custom look.

 

Really want a pair of wind. It rains literally EVERYday here in Guam where I am stationed. So you cant leave your windows down and it is always hot in car....

$100 is a lot when the govt isnt paying you though.....:face palm:

 

have both, came with truck when purchased. like the window vents, bug shield still undecided on.

 

I've usually had both on my vehicles. Don't know if it is for looks or out of habit. I have both on my 2013.

I'm removing the bug deflector and putting in rain deflectors regardless. Just wanted to see how TW folks feel

 

Yeah, got limo tint before I left the states. Just gotta save up for the wind def.

 

The bug guards are ok if they are low profile or one of the aeroskins.
Full size look weird and goofy.

 

Got a pic of that style? I hate mine and i'm removing it this weekend

The bug guards come in full height and low profile. Low profile just being shorter and more stock looking.
