If you only had $300 to spend on your bone-stock truck, what would be the first thing/things you bought for it?

All depends on how you wanna use your truck, i'd go with bilstein shocks for the front to level the truck ($200)
Or a set of rock sliders ($300-350?)

First Welcome to TW, it all depends on what you hope to achieve with your truck.

    enough to go over stuff

Plasti dip, or a color matched grill, avid bar, roof rack, skid plate, rock sliders, bed rack, bed cover. There are alot of good options.

i keed someone was bound to do it
i'd go with this. but also depends what your doing with your truck. i'd go with a tint and small stuff like different shift knob and or do a retrofit or BHLM.

Bed mat, seat covers, weather tech or like. first damage I had to my truck was the day I bought it and my aluminum motorcycle ramp slid into the side of the bed hard and took out a small chunk.

If you use it a lot offroad, id get sliders. At stock height, you're bound to tap something and it'll help keep your truck pretty.

If you have a short bed and haul stuff or use the bed often, get a bed extender.

I bought mine used and had 99,000 miles on it. First thing I got in that range was 5100 Bilstein shocks all around.

    These are all great suggestions.

With regards to how I plan to use the truck, it's my daily driver and I do commute so I need to keep those mpgs up. I also love to find old dirt roads and logging roads and do some exploring. So I'd like better tires and maybe some sliders.

I like the aggressive looks some of the members here have achieved with the grille mods, but I lack the courage to do it myself, for fear of screwing something up. (This is my first new car and It's got less than 400 miles on it. I'm still in the "Babying" phase.) What I'd like is to put some driving lights behind the grille. That'd be sweet.

Not sure what you mean by bumper. Both of my bumpers are stock. I have an avid bar on the front it was like 350 and I bedlined the rear bumper so it would be black. Ill get steel front and rear bumpers soon though.

so many options.. depends on you use, for mine i would start with the basic list of things i need

bed mat (plastic bed is slippery)
floor mats (something better than carpet)
long add-a-aleaf (because the stock springs are too soft)
spacer lift (so its not raked out)

then i use it as a truck untill i can afford some other stuff

haha, this guy is in $$ trouble. $300 on a budget consultant maybe?

my first $300 was weathertechs and tint. that was almost exactly a year ago and i'm well over $5,000 now. totally worth it.

    welcome to TW!
