I went 275's cause I wanted to run my stock Sport alloys and not have to run spacers

OZ, did you ever run the 275's before your lift?

I have my wheels (17" sports and 275/70 BFG's) and I'm dying to put them on and I don't have my lift installed yet! Haha I guess I should just be patient...

There's a little bit of weight in the bed in the first pic, but you get the idea. They also stuff pretty well I've found. 275/70R17 BFG AT's on Yuma 908B Black Rocks

Oh, and lift is OME 885's front, full dakar's rear.

Not sure spacers are needed. It all depends on ur setup, but i had a 3" toytec in my 08 AC, and mounted 285/75/17 gy mtrs to my stock alloys. I've also never found a need to buy UCA's. Maybe they rub on aftermarket ucas? In my experience, i've never needed new uca's. There is a tire shop in western mass that does a great job at getting the camber spot on, as well as recalibrating the vsc (yaw, etc). That said, there are so many variables, and ymmv.

How is it possible that you didn't rub the UCA with 285's on stock alloys ?

As far as I know, nothing has changed from an 08 to now. I sold a set of ATX Predator teflons with 285/75/17 km2s mounted, and bought gy mtrs at 285/75/17 and mounted them to stock sport alloys. Drove the truck this way for a few months before selling it in 2011. It goes along with the fact that you really don't need to spend money on upper control arms as long as the guy doing the alignment is really good at it. I took my 2008 to a garage that "had it close" but couldnt get it perfect. Mr Tire in western mass dailed me rite in with factory uca's

UCA's depend on how important you think a good alignment is and how much caster you want

I'm suprised you could run that width of tire without issues on the stock alloys , general perception is that they definitely rub , even with my current 275's I can just get my fingers between the sidewall and the UCA

Any joe can get you "within factory spec" with stock uca's. Within spec doesn't mean that your alignment is dead on. But, it is entirely possible, with the right mechanic, to get it dead on with stock uca's.
