lol at people getting worked up over this.

listen OP, put the head rests back on. you need them, and you will get used to them.

if you need help seeing your blind spots, pick up some 3 dollar fisheye mirrors to attach to your side mirrors.

I aim them slightly down the side of all my vehicles but when I change lanes I lean forward to check the blind spot on the driver side and do the same for the passenger side or look over my shoulder.
This is what I was thinking, Darwin was a smart man...OP on the other hand...not so much.

Yea, most of my friends can look at the person in the rear driver side seat in their side mirrors which causes a massive blind spot. I set my side mirrors so that as soon as a vehicle is out my rearview mirror I can pick em up in the sides. Still turn my head when changing lanes, but no surprises.

I see zero of my vehicle. Interesting to know what other folks do...

I adjust my side mirrors so I can barely see the edge of my fender flares.

Same here. Head against driver window glass adjust driver side mirror until you only have a sliver of the side of your vehicle visible, and then have your head aligned with center console adjust passenger side mirror out to where you only see a sliver of the right side of vehicle...done. Blind spots 99% gone, and I still take a look before a lane change to double-check.

this is the correct way to set your mirrors. just most people dont know this and dont do it. In my FR-S thats how its set up. in my truck with the RTT onscuring my review mirror, i have them angled more torward the truck so i can see behind me more. will get the fisheye mirrors put on whenever i get back to va to my truck

    No joke!

While stopped at a traffic light in a Honda Civic, I was rear-ended by a drunk driver who never even tapped the brakes of his Lincoln Town Car going about 25 MPH. Even with the head restraints, my head and neck hurt for a couple weeks. Removing the head restraints is idiotic.

I did that when I first learned in driver's ed but I didn't like it since I didn't know where my mirror was pointed relative to the car. By being able to see a slight part of the car normally, it allows me to lean forward and see the whole blind spot. Its a habit to lean forward when changing lanes and I always check no matter how empty the road is.

Please, please, please put them back on. You will snap your neck very easily in a collision. They are designed the way they are for a specific purpose.

I have no issues seeing what I need to see, I couldn't see myself doing this but if it makes things easier for you then to each their own! I like having the headrest to rest my head against from time to time on long trips. Also, in the event of an accident I think they would make a substantial difference in neck protection. But hey, it's your truck & if you like it then great! :D

I don't understand how the headrest of the drivers seat is blocking the view. I cannot see mine, as it is behind my head. Even when turning my head to check blindspots or back up, still not an issue.

I did remove the headrests to the back seat. THAT does increase visibility. Of course, I keep the removed headrests behind the back seat, so if I have rear passengers, I can easily put the headrests back on.

    Not a smart move OP.

It's your neck. Go ahead and take the driver seat head rest out. But don't make that choice for your passengers. Put that thing back in!

If it's not a troll, it's gotta be up there for one of the silliest first posts ever!

OP, make sure you post back if you get in an accident. Let us know how your neck feels.

And in case of a accident/lawsuit you re-install them when someone rides back there right?

I keep the removed headrests behind the rear seat. If anybody sits back there, I put the headrests on before they have a seat.
