I'm looking to install an emergency light for EMS use. If anyone has installed one, please post picture. Also want to know if it should mount on roof or roof rack.
    Thanks all

I am with you! I am a Volunteer Firefighter and have purchased a 37" LED light bar and am now looking at how to install it. Some guys on the dept. have their bars on the roof, others have them on "Back-Racks" Problem is nobody has a Tacoma. All their Chevy stuff doesn't work on the Toyota. Anyone out there with a light bar on their roof please post some pics. Ideas would be great also!

I know there's a guy on here that has one mounted to the roof directly. It's a first gen tho...

Personally, I'd go with deck lighting if possible. Looks cleaner.

Try to see if there any way to run the wire without drilling a hole on the roof.

Unfortunately my light bar is still in the box :( I talked to a guy about fabricating a "backrack" style bar that will work on the Tacoma. May be sometime before I can get it made and put on. will try to post a pic of the light itself.

With my old dept, one guy ran his lights on his taco's luggage rack, and another ran them on his headache rack.

I've moved since then, and don't have any pictures.

I used to have one on my truck... I got longer extension wires and dropped the wire into rubber seal then town the cowl to under the hood hooked up to battery and took the switch through the main wiring harness through the firewall
