So I got acouple sweet mopeds a few months ago and im trying to figure out how to transport them in the bed.

Im thinking of making some kind of home made box for the front wheels to go into at the front of the bed.

Has anyone made any custom setup to transport your dirtbikes, mopeds, etc in the bed?
Or do you just get a couple d rings for the front of the bed and tie them down?

Im thinking something light enough to remove if not needed but I also like to over engineer things so maybe make it so there are a couple compartments for stuff as well?

I certainly have some ideas in my head but I want to see what anyone else has done.

You should have tie down cleats already mounted in your bed. Just get some tie down straps and cinch them down. They'll be fine. Hauling bikes is easy.

I have D rings in all corners with the bed cleats and I never have an issue. I haul my and my girlfriends dirtbikes quite often

X2, adding D rings in the front 2 corners is a MUST for carrying atv's or anything really. The trick is to buy the kit but trash everything but the D rings and mount to your front two corner bolts that hold the bed down. You have to do a little grinding, but it's not a big deal.
There is a writeup on it if you search.

Im probably going to start with the front d rings for now and a bed bar in the spring. Only got a couple weeks left before i put it away for the winter.

I put a loop in the front middle of the box. Then use the factory bed clamp on the other side. Tie down dirtbikes all the time. Does the job for me

Get this OP. No issues, strengthens the front of the bed so it doesn't flex. CCRSport bed bar. I would not trust the stock rails. Buddies 450 fell out of his regular cab with just the factory rail system.

hahaha, just spit coffee on my desk.

Yeah ill admit mopeds aren't as cool as Harleys but this thing is a blast to rip around, especially down in the beach areas here in RI where it will be almost all the time in the summers. That's the main reason I bought it.
It currently gets to 35 but im in the process of a teardown this winter and going with a cylinder upgrade kit. Should be in the 40's by spring time!!
