I didnt know how our housings work with just the hids in them? I didnt know how well they throw the light. Id rather not mess with installing and spending the money on projectors. Thanks guys!

I have them and I don't need the projector housing. I was worried at first but once I got them I realized the stock lights are halogens for my 2013 and the housing is designed well. In most vehicles HIDs on stock housing create a scattered pattern. But mine cross evenly and are even across the road. The only thing I notice is that they are slightly brighter in the middle which is due to a triangle sliver in the housing which creates a diamond sliver in the middle where the two lights meet which is slightly brighter then the rest but it looks great and provides me with long safe lightining on trails and dark country roads
Pm me if you have any questions or need help installing them.

^^^ However, the scatter that you don't think you have affects every driver you come across. That 6000k+ color temp isn't doing you any justice either. For reals. If you really just HAVE TO do drop ins, your best bet is 4300k as you are actually going to be putting more lumens downrange.

I hate being blinded by other people running HID's in stock housings.

Hid in stock housings is a dick move. Blinds everyone else and the light isnt nearly as good as it could be. Im in oil country in canada and every db has a jackked up ford with hids in stockers at eyelevel. Dont be that guy get projectors

I'll refer you to my build for details as to not clutter this thread, but long story short they are stock housings that I retrofitted projectors into.

I will admit, I went the drop in HID route for a while myself. I can assure you that a drop in HID, especially those in the higher color temperatures will not produce the kind of light output any better than stock. A higher wattage halogen will produce better results.

I plan on doing retrofit like Colton has done. Doesn't blind the crap out of other people and looks awesome. I plan on getting 5000k though. IMO, anything higher than 5000k is pointless if you want brighter lights.

I have 5000k myself, but also have 50w ballasts behind them which washes a little bit of the color out, putting them somewhere in the 4500-4800k range.

And yes anything over 5000k IS pointless. A site with some information to help explain that.
