Thanks. Maybe a very early edition? I dunno. I'll get a pic of the sticker when I get home later and the paperwork.

Thanks! One thing I did notice about this one is it seems quieter than the last one. Maybe a little more sound deadening?

Engine? They didn't change the engine but you may be right about the steering wheel controls, and I thought the radio was different. That radio looks just like my 2012 radio.

Nice truck BTW, wish I had the locker and a-trac!

Yeah B.Turner that looks exactly like the 2013 interior. Even look on autotrader and you will see the new 2014 interior. Does your "2014" tacoma have the autodimming mirror? It seems as though anyone who actually has a 2014 has a plain/no power mirror even at the TRD level. Would be something else to verify. As it looks aesthetically by the HU and controls..that is a 2013.

What about the VIN? doesn't that tell you the production date?

Example on autotrader...click the link again if it doesn't work at first.

    http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/vehicledetails.xhtml?zip=30144&endYear=2014&modelCode1=TACOMA&sortBy=bestmatchb&showcaseOwnerId=652231&startYear=2014&makeCode1=TOYOTA&searchRadius=300&showcaseListingId=355655004&mmt=%5BTOYOTA%5BTACOMA%5B%5D%5D%5B%5D%5D&listingId=357795414&Log=0

Another difference from 2013/2014 looks to be that the TRD-OR decals no longer say "toyota racing development" underneath the TRD Offroad portion....yours do.

Yeah, I answered in the other thread also. I dunno it has me intrigued also. Steering wheel controls are definitely different than the 14 pictured but the window sticker clearly says 2014 and all the paperwork says 14. The only thing that I can think of is a first run production? Other than that I couldn't tell. That doesn't seem right either though.

Mine looks the same as the 2014 pictures on the Toyota site so I'm a bit baffled.

And maybe you are right...maybe Toyota was using the tail end remainder of 2013 HU and Steering wheels to build the first 2014's? but wouldn't the HU function different? Unless they package the 2013 HU with nav and entune at the same price of the corresponding 2014 package?

I don't know... This is the first time I've run into something like this? Early first run is the only thing I can think of?

Maybe it's a difference between Tacomas built in Texas and the ones built in Mexico. Where was yours built?

Hmmm, I can't remember exactly about the VINs. There's a couple other ways though. On the driver's side door sill there's a bunch of stickers...one says where it's built. It's also on the window sticker you have. In the upper left corner it has the Port/Plant it came from. Mine does have a 5 VIN and was built here.

Found it... Mine's 3 so Mexico. Don't know if that has anything to do with it though.
