Title says it all. Once I get my new Tacoma I am considering getting a CAI. Is the improvement in performance noticeable?

Waste of money unless you decide to add a super charger. You will gain no difference in mileage or power. Your truck essentially "has" a CAI on it if you look at the way the air enters through the fender. There are a bunch of posts on this subject. Check out the search function to get some more info. ;)

    Yup.

All it will do is increase noise, allow more dirt to get into the engine, and if you live in California, you won't pass smog.

Yes, only because you'll be hanging out in the higher RPM range in an attempt to hear the CAI scream. I say keep your money for something else unless you plan on getting supercharged...
