Looking at new DC LB 4x4 so I've been combing the pages here for a few weeks and would love to here you guys think.

I liked the camera in mirror along with temp and compass but I understand that isn't on '14.

Not sure what the deal is with the camera / temp gauge in the mirror. Apparently the window stickers specifically tell that as an option but the trucks just aren't shipping with them. I bet if you went to look at one, and complained to the dealer - they would install it for you for no cost.

Traded the 2015 TRD Pro 6spd Supercharged on a PowerWagon and could not be happier. My 2011 Tacoma with the TX Baja package (Added by me) is still treating me great. My 1985 Toyota never skips a beat.
I love my 13, and i bet you can swing a better deal.

    there's my vote

Given the decision again, I would choose a 2013.

I just learned that unless you have the Entune Premium you have NO actual Entune functionality! They now claim that the radio functions like Bluetooth and having AM/FM radio is Entune...I have Entune Plus and there is no app suite included! I am very disappointed in Toyota for changing the definition of Entune. It's my fault I guess for being under-informed...

I'm still surprised my '12 doesn't even have "HD" radio! At first I didn't like the camera in mirror, thinking it blocked my view from actually looking at the mirror, but now that I think about it, it's nice that you can quickly switch your view from one to the other and side mirrors w/out having to look down.

I use the entune daily on my '13 but it could be so much better, the nanny nagscreens and the auto-source change and having to be plugged into my iphone and running the entune app to get live traffic on the nav is nice. Also I have a shell on the back so the rearview mirror is pretty much useless if it werent for the backup camera display.

Plus if you can get it for less $$ its a no brainer to get the '13 if you can find the longbed/color/features you want.

Thanks guys. Sound opinions. I may go see what kind of a deal they'll give me on a '13 if I can find one close to what I want.

I don't think I have seen anyone who has bought a 14 say the window sticker mentioned the mirror. I think it was an issue with people who were ordering their Tacomas. Even if you go to dealer sites and pull up their new 2014 TRD models, none of them mention including the autodim mirror.

If its the case where it doesn't say so on the window sticker/on-site paperwork then anyone who buys on the lot probably won't be compensated anything.

Yes, one TW member was compensated but he ordered his Tacoma.

    enough to go over stuff
If you can find a 13 you want get it. They will be willing to go lower on the price. I got a 14 because there wasnt a 13 in california that was a white crew cab 4x4 trd offroad. The 14 will hold the resale value better too.

I drove both a '14 and a '13 before buying the '13. (My '13 has the TRD OR package, the '14 had no TRD package)

To clarify on the backup camera, both trucks had it. My '13 has the mirror display, while the '14 was displayed on the stereo. That's a matter of personal preference. The stereo display is obviously much bigger, however I prefer the mirror display because the location makes more sense to me.

The mirror in my truck also has the outside temp / compass / auto dim, while the mirror in the '14 had none of these.

My decision to go with the '13 was because it was a better deal - I simply got more for less money.

Now if it didn't have these vibration issues, I'd be happy with it.

I went with a 13. My mirror has the temp, compass, and rear camera. And you can change the colors of the readings. I haven't read up on it yet, but a little snow flake pops up beside the temp when it gets about 35* outside. I don't know if it's just warning of freezing temps or what.

Usually serves as a warning to watch out for freezing roadways...

I wouldn't buy either! My '06 runs great, and has no payments!:D
Be flexible about options get a great deal on a '13. More money for mods!

I am very happy with the '13 with its temp/compass/auto dim/camera mirror. The only complain I have with this mirror is that the "garage opener" button is non-existent. Godspeed.

Here's the main info on the sticker of my 2014 Double Cab 4x4 Long Bed. Fairly basic truck. The Extra Value Package MSRP discount at the bottom (cut off) is -$355.00. I paid $31500. with a trade-in which they gave me middle book. Very satisfied with the deal and especially the truck. Much more vehicle than my '03 TRD double cab. I really like the camera and E tune... hope this helps! I won't buy a one model year old vehicle but that's a personal decision. Deal is generally the same. Just my opinion. W/O a trade I could've likely got it 1-3K cheaper.

^This - Me too, I just bought my 2014 DCab 4x4 Saturday with Entune Plus, got home and tried to register, no dice, called Toyota and they say that you have to have the Nav radio to add the apps. I filed a complaint with the customer group even though it will do no good. They should call the option Entune Minus, not a good value for $680, would have been better off with a Pioneer App Radio, but then they moved the camera from the rear view mirror to the radio now. :(

    Otherwise I love the truck.

Got a '14 DCSB TRD OR about a week and a half ago. Looked at a '13 they had in stock and wanted to move ($29,800 no trade though) but it didnt have entune. My '14 has Entune, but not the premium (no navigation) and the rear view camera displays in the radio (which I like, because its a bigger display than the mirror) but it does lack the compass and temperature display (which I WOULD have liked).

Knowing what I know, unless I found a '13 EXACTLY how I wanted it, and planned to keep it a LONG time, I'd take the '14 for similar $. I paid $30,950 (plus taxes and fee's) for a '14 with Entune and they had to go 200+ miles to get it. I was very happy with the deal.
