I'm going to attempt to build my own box, cut into center console space, similar to the JL Audio stealthbox. Why? I can't afford a $500+ pre fabricated box. But I'm good with tools and such ;) I already have an amp wired and ready, and a 10" Arc Audio XXD sub and some neat material to cover it with, my biggest concern will be the rectangular-2- round transition where the sub will mount.

My plan is to use 3-4 layers of wood cut nicely and stacked to form the transition (it will like similar to a transmission lol )

Has anyone else attempted this? And/Or have any tips?

Yea my main issue is keeping the rear seats/under seat storage accessible, which is why Im doing this.

i was thinking of a design a while back, mdf box formed for between the centre console and the rear bend right on the floor, put a screen protector and fabric coat it, would look ok?? lots of work though

I am using mdf, and the covering I have for it is really nice- the hard part will be forming the wood- I need a router and a jigsaw still but I think my parents have some I can borrow.

I will definitely do a step by step.

I'm going to prep the console by cutting out what needs to be removed then build a practice box out of drywall (same thickness as the wood) , once i get a proper fit I can then use the drywall pieces as templates for the wood.

My amp is a bit too large to fit underseat because of a crossbar under there so I may also be grinding that bar down a little.

I have the JL Stealth box install in my '13 TRD Sport Access cab..you do lose about 80% of your center consoles depth,,which accumulated a bunch -o-crap for me anyhow....Deep enuf tho to keep your .40cal. and other stuff without being cluttered...I absolutley lost ZERO underseat storage..bottom is same size as console bottome ,,I even kept my cup holders ...you will have to relocate your Inverter if you have one..mine went under passenger seat perfectly.....
Perfect fitment for a pretty decent rear facing/down firing Sub...spend the money....Looks factory..you have to look for the sub to see it..Lotta' compliments...

I'd love to spend the money. Problem is I'll never have it lol. I'm pretty good at DIY projects so if I don't get too impatient while building it this should turn out just as good. I don't have the inverter so no worries there. My console is also cluttered with junk, but It will be easy enough to clutter the glove box instead haha

Check out my little sub box for a access cab in my build. It eliminates one of the storage areas under the rear driver side seat, but i still have full use of my back seats.

Yes. You add layers of fiberglass until you reach the desired thickness.

I'm not a professional on anything but for a center council I would build a very thin (light weight) framed center council, stretch fleece material over it and tweak it until your happy with the lines. Cover the fleece with resin and then start adding layers of fiberglass. Its a long slow process but with it.

Alright. It's going well so far. I have the box assembled and the console cut. Working on the face where the sub will sit still. Almost done

Wow looks good! Make sure you seal you inner edges with silicone!

I got it all sealed. And covered. Sub installed, it's in the truck and hooked up, sounds great.
Have not finished the trim. But here's what I got so far

Sorry it's probably upside down again
