    too stiff, but thats not as bad as the fact that the diameter of the coils is too small for the seat on the tool and they like to slip..

    no thanks.

    I guess when you have a coil sprung solid axle you don't really have a choice... That's what I'm used to using coming from the Jeep world

    i used a prybar when i did my friends jeep.. not the safest way lol

    Yep, used that method for getting the stock ones out usually. It's getting the 4"+ lifted coils in there that is the tricky part and usually you need the spring compressors

    CBI bed rack and sliders, Backwoods Adventure Mods front and rear bumpers, etc. And some stickers.
    I have 2 sets and used 4 of them. A lot less scary that way. My cheap Harbor Freight impact wrench was too weak, though, and I had to compress with hand tools. Decent workout, but didn't take too long -- and I had the confidence that they were aligned right when put back together.

    It depends on the free length of the aftermarket spring I guess. On the FJ Cruiser, the rear lift install guides say to unbolt brake line brackets, unbolt the shock, then slowly lower the rear axle by the jack. This drops the axle low enough to remove the spring.

    Yeah, pulling a stock coil out can usually be done by flexing the axle... It's putting the longer coil in that you usually need the compressor for. At least that was the case on my grand Cherokee and wrangler, I don't have experience with fjs

    I bet i can get the fronts swapped in under 30 min :)

    but being his first time, and doing the rear, and not being pre-assembled i would say 4 hours is pretty likely.

    Plan on 8 and have a buddy come over. someone to hold a prybar and save your fingers, and wrestle things is always nice and much safer.

    is that the 28v milwakee?

    if so its a huge beast, i loved it but now i have the cheaper and smaller craftman 18v and i love it, if it is too weak i use the air gun..

    the batteries went to shit on the milwakee

    no man no milwakee here. my company is somewhat in cahoots with hilti so that's what I use. we have a deal. . . . .

    I have been using my rotohammer, drill, 1/2" impact, and sawzall for 2 1/2 years with the same two batteries. my hilti 1/4" impact I've had for closer to 4 years. its good stuff in my opinion

    ^ i have 6 batteries and 3 chargers for the craftsman.

    The drill is JUNK, so i got a rigid

    and the sawzall is good

    the battery life is pretty poor but i have a bunch of them lol
