3 inch lift, and Dick Cepek 33x12.50 tires!
What's up guys I'm new around here, I've been looking on the site for well over 6 months and finally decided to join the site. I've been doing alot of looking for a lift for my truck. I work out of town a lot so I don't got much time for offroading. I'm just looking for a lift to fit some 33's under. I am thinking about just doing the OME lift I found. Since I won't be offroading and doing any rough riding I figured I'd just leave my shocks and coils factory and put a 3 inch spacer in the front and 2inch AAL from toytech in the back. Like I said I won't be offroading much at all. Ill be putting most of the miles on the interstate, so please give me some opinions guys!

Well the kit is a OME 3 inch front spacer and it comes with toytech AAL.

^ That's the lift. I see people bashing the spacer lift a lot on here I'm not a cheap person I'm willing to spend the money on the 5100 shocks from bilstein but I see no point if the spacer lift won't hurt the ride. I mean I understand if I was off roading.

Just to clarify the question - you've got a regular cab 4x4 right?

OK, so you understand the lift you linked is NOT a spacer lift right?

It achieves lift in the front with a combination of longer & stiffer ARB OME 884 springs, plus a small top-plate spacer in the front, and an "add-a-leaf" spring in the back.

The reason that a small top-plate spacer is desirable is that there are two components to having a comfortable ride - uptravel and downtravel.

With a small top-plate spacer in place, there's a little more droop for going over bumps like speedbumps and highway expansion joints where the suspension needs to droop rather than compress.

You may find that 5100 shocks are more comfortable than the factory shocks even on normal highway driving conditions. I don't have personal experience, so I don't have an opinion one way or the other.

If you're installing it yourself, you'll either need to remove the factory coilover assembly and take it to a shop with a spring compressor to have the new springs put on (a shop usually charges around $40 for this) or order additional parts and have a complete coilover assembly shipped to you from toytec, or use the "no spring compressor" assembly technique. (opinions vary as to how safe this is)

    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/1s...ng-5100s-without-spring-compressor-video.html

Personally, if I was going to the trouble, I'd go ahead and throw 5100 shocks into the mix just because they're a better shock than factory, and better suited to the job of controlling the oversized wheels and tires you're gonna put on the truck after it's lifted.

Okay well I feel a little stupid thinking it was a spacer lift, but I get the coils now. I think ill just go with your idea on the 5100's especially since ill be running 33's and 17' rims. Ill definitely post pics when I get everything ordered and let ya know what I think! Thanks for the help, its greatly appreciated!

Yeah. But if you buy 'em from one of the TW vendors like "Downsouth Motorsports" or "Wheeler's Offroad" you'll get someone on the phone who knows the exact part numbers you need for your Tacoma.

To lift the rear, you'll still need an "add a leaf" spring and new U bolts. The spring perch is only adjustable to create lift on the front shocks.
