OK, forgive me but you guys are confusing this old man.

One said "StartupImage" and it was case sensitive

The two folder names are case sensitive and have to be exactly as shown here. When I first tried this, I missed capitalizing one letter and it didn't work. It must be "StartupImage” and “DisplayOffImage”.

    OP said "Startupimage"

One talks about .jpg file extensions
Another talks about .jpeg file extensions

Which is it? Do you need both folders even if only loading startup?

    Thanks,

    kg5ie

"StartupImage" worked for me. The image is referred to as a JPEG image but the actual file extension is .jpg. If you only want to change the start-up image then that is the only folder you need. You edit the startup image and display off image seperately on the HU so you can change one without needing files for another. Hope you can get it to work now.

Could someone please list the user manual page this is listed on?

    Try #6

    StartupImage

    .jpg file extension

"No images found. Check owners manual for file types supported."

Mostly stock with a few minor mods.
I still haven't fully figured it out. I put 3 pics in each folder but it will only find one on my thumb drive to load. I erased that one from the thumb drive, put it back in and it would load another pic. Will tinker some more this weekend. I have a couple to look at for now.

    Bill,

That is the same error message i got when i first tried uploading .png images but once I changed them to .jpg it worked on the first try. I was unable to find any info in the owner's manual when I tried to look at the recommended file types so I am not sure if the manual even has this info at all. only thing i can think of is to view the properties of the pictures you are trying to upload and make sure they are .jpg format, I'm sure you already have done this but I dont know what else could be wrong, it sounds like you are trying everything that worked for me

    Ah Ha!

    INFORMATION
    ● When saving the images to a USB,
name the folder that the startup image is
saved to “StartupImage” and name the
folder that the screen off image is saved
    to “DisplayOffImage”. If these folder
names are not used, the system cannot
    download the images. (The folder
    names are case sensitive.)
    ● The compatible file extensions are JPG
    and JPEG.
    ● An image’s file name, including file
extension, can be up to 32 characters.
    ● Image files of 5 MB or less can be transferred.
    ● Up to 3 images can be downloaded.

My issue is file size I think.

Cool Mod...too bad the image only displays momentarily and then goes away. Would be nice to have it displayed as static

Yeah I honestly haven't even noticed it since I've done it. It flashes for such a brief amount of time.

Once you have have your images downloaded from your thumb drive and you selected them correctly for Display off image and Startup Image. Click the home button. Then click on the little gear at the top left.

Then click on screen off. I do this while I my music is playing and I just control it through my steering wheel.
