Came across a 2010 TRD Access Cab with 145,000 miles on the odometer, one owner, V6, Automatic in great shape. Dealer has come down to $15,900

Is this a good deal? What type of life can one expect out of the 4.0L V6?

    Thanks

I would assume that's a lot of highway miles, so it doesn't sound too bad...

i feel like thats a good deal then IMO.
that many miles in that short of time, probably used it for work, mostly highway miles i would assume....

as long as everything is in good working order and its what you want, then id do it.

I'm in NJ, looks like the truck was a upstate NY/NJ truck since it was sold new.

do a auto check or carfax, make sure no water damage. i would do one myself, not what the dealer shows you. which ever one he shows do the other one. check with edmunds.com says is fair market value. KBB and NADA are out of line.

Holy crap. 145k on a 2010? My 2010 only has 41k and i drive everywhere. 15,900 isnt too bad if its 4x4. Hopefully the miles were mostly hwy.

That's a minimum average of 700 miles a week or so. Probably more. Wowsers! It would almost have to be highway. The gas cost would have been more than the truck payment by a fair margin too.

Front wheel bearings, u-joints, frame rust, front diff noise, and having coolant checked for trans fluid contamination would be the top things to check on my list, since it likely won't have much of a warranty.

Its from a Toyota Dealer and the dealer is providing a 3 Month unlimited mileage warranty. I will check for all of those items. Was frame rust still an issue on the 2010+ models?

Wow man....that's roughly $300/month for a truck with a lot of miles. You'd be better of buying a new 2.7L ext cab and pay $350-$400/month.

CarFax and Auto Check come back clean. The truck looks like new since it's only a 2010. Only thing needs to be changed is the leather on the steering wheel is worn in spots, because the guy was driving so damn much.

I also located a 2007 Access Cab 4.0 Auto 4X4 with 105,000 miles on it, but no TRD Package. Dealer is asking the same $15,900 for the 2007.

Wondering if it's worth it to get the 2010 since it's all highway miles... Any thoughts???

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
At least you know it runs! I like it. Offer them 12.5 with new tires or walk. F' m.

My 2012 has 45k on it already, and I bought it new 16 months ago. I guess I'm close to being on that pace. 90% of my miles are highway, and I maintain my truck religiously. I haven't had a single issue yet, and I feel confident that if taken care of, these trucks will run forever. You should be able to tell quickly how it was cared for. I wouldn't let the mileage alone scare me away.

My 2010 has 87k on it, I cant imagine another 60k on top of that. Thats a feat. Regardless, i'd buy a well-cared for truck with 145k on it before a poorly-cared for one with 45k.

Checked the undercarriage and no rust on the frame whatsoever. Also obtained service records and seems as though it was serviced on-time in the 3 years the guy had the truck.

Still debating if I should go for it or keep looking.
