I cut some wires here. Added some wires there.
Regarding the 2009 suspension and the leaf spring TSB. It seems the early '09s didn't get the sticker on the door jam stating the payload is less. It's already clear they were manufactured with the same parts as in the '08. They honor the TSB for the '08 and I think this new sticker is their loophole to get out of future TSB's on the '09s. So I can only assume the the payload on at least the early '09s is actually 290lbs less than what was advertised when we took delivery of our trucks. Is this lack of loophole sticker and refusal to upgrade the springs grounds for a false advertising lawsuit?

If you can prove that the payload is less that advertise then maybe. Would probably be tough to prove. Also a potential huge and expensive waste of time.

Out court system has enough crap in it already that a 290LB difference in payload probably isn't good use of it.

Took delivery in Jan 09 (dec build date), no weight reducing sticker that I have been able to locate around the driver door jamb. We had the soccer mom / air hauler springs which were changed without hassle under the TSB.
Mine is a Mexican produced double cab OR, could it be that the Californian ones get this sticker and the mexican ones don't? I seem to recall that the super soft suspension is a US domestic market only item.
Just reducing the payload would not be enough. They would also have to reduce the towing capacity to match.

Toyota will likely include the 09s in the next few months. I wouldn't be worried about it.

That's more what I was getting at, not so much looking to get a lawsuit together. Just if there is a possiblity of a class action lawsuit than they'll most likely eventually make good on the pre-sticker '09s.

It's just a sticker, right? just peel it off. Seems that not all of the 09s have them to begin with.

That's a good point. What good is the sticker anyway? Somebody posted a pic of one. If that person loaded up his bed to the full published payload capacity and had a problem Toyota wouldn't be liable due to a sticker? What if he peeled the sticker off? The only reason I can see them even putting the sticker there for is some kind of legal issue otherwise why sticker it at all?

I have the sticker on my 09, but I still was able to get the TSB done.

    Oh boy... My thoughts.

A Class Acion Lawsuit for some leaf springs? Sorry but if Toyota is denying warranty coverage regarding the inner fender bulges/tears on the FJ Cruisers you have got nothing. There are many documented cases of the inner fender bulges/tears of the CRUMPLE ZONES on the FJ Cruisers and Toyota quitely started introducing a 3rd apron design in mid 2008 yet are still denying repairs to people with full on rips into the wheels wells. They are so bad in some cases that the doors will not open without rubbing on the fenders. Also this is an ongoing issue that reared it's ugly head in the Landcruiser Prado's in 2003.

    Good Luck.
