LED conversion on every accessible bulb, TRD exhaust (dealership threw in for free along with the Blu-Logic).
3000 miles if using conventional. 5000 if using synthetic. If you have dust storms like I do, change more often. The only bad mix of oils I can think of is between non detergent and detergent oils. You can even run 20 50 if you want. Just remember that the higher viscosity oils will take longer to pump up your hydraulic lifters resulting in excessive startup wear. I like single weight 30 synthetic. I don't live where it gets below freezing and there is so much less valve train noise.

I am not suggesting anyone follows my lead, what I do with my truck I will have to pay the consequences if the engine fails early.

In Canada, there isn't much difference between 5 and 10W 30.......

Please tell your girlfriend it is okay on the oil mix up. Half a quart will not make a difference. You can always replace the oil, tougher to replace a girlfriend.

Be kind to one another. We all make mistakes.

fully armored, 4.88, 33 skinnies, tundra brakes, a REAL cold air intake.
leaving it may be fine down here in san diego county, but up in those cold places it might have negative effects... maybe?

Good way to send her into premature labour(stress). I wouldn't suggest this posters suggestion until after she has the baby. :)

No auto manufacturer has recommended 3000 mile intervals since detergent oils became commonplace in the late '60s.

3000 miles is marketing, dreamed up by Iffy Lube and oil manufacturers.
It is a waste of money, time, and natural resources.

Tacoma 2.7 requires synthetic, 5w20 or 0w20, changed every 5,000.
Tacoma 4.0 requires 5w30, changed every 5000 whether synthetic or conventional.

Some other Toyota vehicles recommend 10,000 miles on synthetic, but the Tacoma has not yet been approved for that interval.

My 2003 Tundra recommended 5,000 for severe service and 7,500 for normal service, conventional oil.

    Uhh.... ya, there is.

Nice cold winter morning, 10w30 is twice as heavy as 5w30.
That's half the flow and twice the wear on startup.

My owners manual for the 2TR-FE says 5W-30 conventional, though I use same weight synthetic.

Could have been the case for the 2006.
My 2008 calls for 0w20/5w20 (0w20 is only available in synthetic).

She might be a keeper. Only thing my wife will check under the hood is the washer solvent and only if I'm not going to be home for a couple of days. But you might tell her that if the oil level is not at the add line there is no need to top it off with a half a quart. Topping off when I between the full and add lines gives a higher risk of overfilling by misjudging the amount needed. Overfilling is not good.

My former girlfriend put motor oil in the power steering pump of my 1970 Camero. That was 31 years ago. We've been married 29 years. That'll teach her!
