I do a fair amount of traveling in my DCSB, and need a better option for my bed.

Water proof is the highest priority, but security and peace of mind are up there as well. Durable enough to stand on would be great. Being able to fold up part of the cover without opening the entire thing is also a plus.

Less important would be easy removal, though I don't want to have unsightly tape or crap on my truck. Weather stripping I can deal with, as long as its minimal.

Price isn't terribly important. I want to save money if I can, but I'll pay for a quality product.

I've done a bunch of searching on here, and I'm honestly overwhelmed by all the options.

    What meets my requirements?

I have always had preference for the Fold-a-Cover G4 Elite. Beware though, if some retailers haven't sold all of their version 1's you might get the adhesive weather strips for the top of the bed sides. The newest version has the seals that actually bolt down with the attachment points that go on the bed rails. Also you can still use your tie downs with the G4 as well. Fold-a-cover has free shipping or "$$$ off" deals now and again directly from their site.

Some other nice ones out there...but the G4 elite seems to be one of the best. A couple reviews on here of it. The pics I saw of even the V2 Bakflips and how they are put together on the under side didn't impress me much. But I don't own one so that's just by what I've seen.

Not sure what model number but I have an ARE and it's pretty water proof and secure. Locks with key and for added water proofing there is writhing stripping along the tailgate. a2y7ugy2_1ed49f5e27be5ac70aedbd11e714542e905cca23.jpgyjuqade9_3acefb9bd3aa0b62f33031b1c44af0e1961b5162.jpg9yju9edu_1003f7cdfffab4e0bf17e1b7f0e3e70bb3f55e43.jpgvu4ydyre_bee9db37291fd6a92fbfaf6a114e267fdd85c3ae.jpgy2utedum_6c4d1db4883e8eaace006240565f19346ce96e8d.jpg sorry for the picture overload I was trying to dig thru my photos and give you as many views as possible. Those both look like good options, though I'm leanin toward the G4.

What about the Extang or Bak models?

If I did it again, I'd get an Undercover. My friend has one on his F-150, and it's a really quality piece. Waterproof, locking, and really light (can be taken off just by him).

look up diamondback covers. can lock them only open half the bed, oh and most can hold 400+ pounds on them i think some can hold like 1k+ i know some can hold 800 pounds.

edit: it can be taken all the way off easy. It’s also the only cover i’d get other than a soft topper.

haha. sorry.. I just thing the se model and HD model are the best tonneau covers out their! aluminum diamond plate, can be opened from the front or back, can be ordered already line e’ex, the HD model can hold 1600 pounds on it. also comes with tie down points to tie stuff down on them, and can get guards to protect the back window.

They sure do look like everything I could ask for... But damn they're expensive.

Really hard to justify that cost. I was thinking more along the ~$7-800 price range.

Edit: Abd yeah, the LT is in that range, but I'm not sold on it.
