you should be able to get it for 26950 easy. MY wife, a recent grad, also got an additional 400 off to make it 26550 and 0% for 4 years. THIS DOES NOT include taxes which was an addtional ~1200.00 and then the 50 dollar processing fee, gay.

WAYYY too much. I paid $28,435 OTD for my '09 Super White DC 4x4 automatic, non-JBL. And got $3k on top of that for my trade. The deal- maker for me was that the dealer puts a free lifetime powertrain warranty (covers same things the Toyota one does) on every new vehicle they sell.

I think $28.5K is reasonable. The taxes are non-negotiable and the fee is really hard to get dropped. Thats about $3500 off of MSRP. Very close to what I got. Even though Toyota's sales are down on average, it really depends on the area. The economy isn't that bad in my area and the dealerships are still somewhat busy.

Keep in mind that Toyota is not in the same boat as the the big three. They have always made a larger profit than the Detroit guys and they have a big capital reserve to hold out with. They know that once they start dropping prices, people will get too used to it and hold out for even more incentives. Maybe in another year if the economy is still struugling as bad, they may offer more but they're not ready to start giving away their vehicles just yet.

My dealer had to travel 200 miles to find my truck so it wasn't like there was a lot full of them. Among seven dealers within a 100 mile radius of me, there were only a dozen trucks with those features in stock. Out of those, they were only available in silver, gray, and black. My wife wanted either blue or red. One dealer had a blue tacoma in the sport package in stock and he wouldn't sell it for less than MSRP. He said that the factory $1500 rebate was the best he was gonna do. I left!!

You could go to Vegas or some other distraught area and get a better deal but why not let the hometown guy be your servicing dealer. Toyota, I believe, idled production in advance to prevent a glut that would force the prices down. They are pretty smart if you ask me. Its always about supply and demand. Unfortunately for me, the demand here is still strong. Best of luck.

I just checked with my local dealer (Jim Barkley Toyota) in Asheville NC and they are selling the same truck for $26,238 plus tax.
They list all their selling prices on the internet.
    Their website is http://www.jimbarkleytoyota.com/Default.aspx
I have bought several vehicles from them over the years and are completly satisfied with their customer service.
I noticed they currently have about 17 of these trucks in stock. I know they will deliver for a small fee.
Just click on new vehicles and do a inventory search

Out of curiousity, I just checked out that site and they only had 1 in stock with the TRD off-road package. I wonder if its a demo for that price.
    Helluva price though.

My bad. Their are more at that price. I sure wished I had known about them before I got mine. No one around here will sell for those prices.

i went to Big Horn Toyota in Glenwood Spring, CO. The sales dude was Ed, and he tried to sell me a double cab, shortbed, trd off road for like 32-33,000 before taxes. I told him it was too much and he showed a used 2005 access cab with about 40K miles at $21,990. the truck was heavily used off. He would not budge at all on any truck in price. I decided to go with the used, filled out all the paperwork. days later I have never head back from the guy. saw another truck on craigslist. 2005 double cab, 6 sp, off road, 36K miles, with topper $19,000. I ended up buying this truck. same day Ed called me back and was yelling at me on the phone to buy his truck. I have never seen an adult act this way even more a sales person.

Big Horn Toyota of Glenwood Springs, CO and Ed both are horrible customer service and sales. I stronger recommend anyone to avoid them.

I just double checked jimbarkleytoyota.com website. They have 81 4X4 Tacoma Doublecabs on their lot right now. When you are doing a search be careful which package you click on. The TRD's have two different packages.

Check all the dealers around you...never go to the first dealer..If they have already agreed on the price that usually means they have the upper hand. This is a buyers market and if that truck is available at another dealer go there. They will make money regardless of what they sell you the car for even if the price is below invoice. Plus there will be 2010 models coming out soon...the most 09s a dealer sells the more 10s they will get on the lot. They will rather sell you a car below invoice then to not sell you a car at all and let another dealer get your business, especially in the economy. If you can get it at invoice I would say that is a fair price. Sales people have families to feed too. If you are happy with the truck...that is all that matters. I heard from CNN that buying on a Monday is also the best day to buy a car. Shows that you are serious. End of the month is important too. Take a couple of days off and shop the 30th and 31st. Good luck.

Sounds high, what is sticker on that? Call around town and see what the same truck is going for. A quick search of Edmunds.com shows about the same price but it seems kind of high. I would work on them for a better deal.

I got a 09 DC 4x4 Sport, tow, with 0% for 28,400 plus taxes and fees. (700$ under invoice...if you want to believe that number or not. I could have had $1000 cash back instead but opted for 0% for 3 years. I got KBB for my trade also. (30,600 out the door). Also, this truck had that crappy Toyoguard. I would not get that again, but hey the exact truck I wanted was on the lot.

I bought it through the Costco program, which was $400 under invoice. I talked them another 300 down from that. I feel it's a fair deal. Remember, when some people post what they paid, keep in mind that they might have gotten screwed on their trade in or taken $1000 cash instead of low APR. It's hard to compare apples to apples sometimes.

I think the thing that many may be missing is the location. It seems that many of you that are purchasing the vehicle for 27k or less live in the south. I'm pretty sure the market in the San Jose area is very different than the market in Texas and other areas of the south.

Anybody else that has an '09 with:

    V6 SR5
    Auto Transmission
    DC
    4x4
    TRD, OR
    towing package
    JBL and BlueTooth package
    All season floor mats

pay less than 29k in the Northwest? Maybe someone can prove me wrong, but it seems the market is a little firmer up here in the Seattle area for Tacoma's. I see them everywhere and thus, dealers seem to be a little less willing to "deal". I'm not the best at driving the hard bargain; I'm sure there are others that could have gotten a better deal. I did opt for the lowest financing rate (2 point something or other) and had no trade in (lease was up on previous vehicle). I got mine for right about 30k. Invoice on my vehicle was about 29k (according to multiple sources) and MSRP was around 32.6k. I paid about 1 grand over invoice for a great truck that I plan to keep for a long time. I'm okay with it.
