I know i know. Its a truck and if I want fuel mileage I should get a Prius. Not the case. I do all highway driving and I purchased the vehicle this past weekend. Its a Certified Used vehicle has 31,000 on it. 4Door/Sport Package. I'm at a 1/4 tank of fuel left and I've only driven 210 miles. I am feathering the peddle and I've only romped on the throttle 2 or 3 times to play (new vehicle excitement).
The Key is "IF" I get 250 miles to the tank it will only be 11.9 MPG. Any ideas why so low?

IMO it wasn't a full tank when you drove it off the lot..if it was, then I would think someone accidently reset the odometer after you had driven a ways.

When I got in the vehicle to leave looked at the fuel. I said to the guy "Its not a full tank!" Part of my deal was I want a full tank of fuel. He went fueled it up and came back to me. I've been the only one to drive the vehicle.

Has this been an issue? I'm contacting the dealership tomorrow about this. I don't know if they serviced it like they said they did.

I think your spark plugs are to be changed every 30k, too.

I'd say fill it up...I mean really top it off. Drive reasonable until the low level light comes on (or before you run dry if it doesn't work) and the top it off again and see what the milage is...

Damn. That's low. 31,000 it should be more than broken in. With almost 30,000 on mine & 285/75/16's I still get around 19-20 hwy. Keep us posted.

^^NO! Don't REALLY top it up! Stop when it clicks or raw fuel will fill up your emission system, I hear. I could be wrong.

Synthetic gear lube made a HUGE difference in my truck. My truck felt like I was driving with the brakes on until I switched.

Fill the tank yourself-then recheck the mileage. Since it is still the first tank of gas-DO NOT GET EXCITED. Possibly they did not fill it completely.
Keep it simple-then after your second or third tank calculations _average your MPG.

Instead of speculating about what mileage you might get, why don't you fill it up (twice would be better) and report back then. Sounds like you are going off what might happen instead of knowing what did happen.

I was thinking the same thing about the engine being broken in already.

I've heard Seafoam may clean some injectors out or even burn hot. I'm gunna give it a try.

Come on little guy you're only 4 years old... :))

I've heard the same shit but, kinda doubtful manufactures would want to have the warranty claims by people filling their tanks...

I've always filled every vehicle I've ever owned as full as they'll go...taking my time, letting the tank burp etc... Could be true & maybe I'm just lucky.
