I'm going to order 4 Bilstein 5100's plus an AAL for the rear. My question however is regarding the AAL. WTF are TSB springs? I have a 2013 DC TRD.

TSB is technical service bulletin. There was some issues with older leaf springs. Toyota issued a TSB on them to upgrade if the user was having bottoming out problems with the springs under load.

You shouldn't be affected, as the newer trucks come with the updated leaf springs.

^^^ Exactly. Just order AAL's for TSB springs or source some leaves from a salvage yard.

Could I put a 1 inch block in the rear to do the same job?

^^blocks = harsher ride over the AAL

if you dont really care for ride quality then you can do that.

A 1" block won't make the ride harsh. I've had both a 1.5" AAL and a 1" block. Currently the 1" block. You can't even tell a difference in the ride. The 1.5" AAL I had rode real rough.

The AAL changes the actual suspension. The block just spaces the leaf pack away from the axle.

I went with a 1" block because I didn't want anymore than 1". I just wanted to get a little rake back after raising the front. I couldn't find a AAL that was only an 1", plus I wasn't happy with the ride of my last AAL. However, I personally wouldn't go anymore than 1.5" with a block. That's just me.

Blocks also contribute to axle wrap.

    I like traction.
