No there is for sure a lean to the drivers side on these trucks. My driver's front fender is an inch closer to the ground with nobody in the truck. I think it can be fixed with a spacer. Would be nice if there was adjustable pre-load on the stock suspension.

    Legitimizing a thread, my favorite.
    Dash rattles
    Bluetooth drops constantly
    That's about it.

Yeah, no offense to you and what not, I don't know your story and I am just assuming and such, but that seems to be the trend with the complaint threads/posts on here.

The fuel tank and battery are on the driver's side with nothing to counter their weight on the passenger side. Then if you add a driver with no passenger it is even worse. This is the common Taco lean. It can vary from 1/4" to 2" it seems.

Have you been able to fix any rattles? I need to have my wife drive it around while I listen.

I just picked up my brand new truck this week and a couple things bother me already(that I already knew before purchasing) that my last truck had and it was 8 years old.

    - No side mirror defog
    - Windshield washer doesn't work very good when weather is really cold
    - No tailgate lock
    - No tailgate assist
    - Locking gas door

    but.....still loving my new truck!

No, not that concerned with it really. Mainly happens on gravel roads at low speeds. Coming from the middle of the dash near the windshield. I can put a slight amount of pressure on it and it goes away.

Yeah, there are for sure numerous little snots that don't respect what has been handed them. Mostly due to poor parenting, not really the child's fault. It ain't getting any better either.

Mine occurs when cruising around 45mph. I haven't checked the upper dash. I fixed one rattle that was in the shifter cover just by pushing it sideways a bit.

Only thing that bothers me so far is both seat belts like to give you a few inches when you go to put them on and then be like "hah! just kidding".

The other night my gf was like I fucking hate these things

60 mph driveline vibe, yes even with the 1-piece reg cab driveshaft and stock everything else. Clutch squeak.

Does anyone besides myself try to combat the lean? For instance, my kids carseat is on passenger side. When I load up the bed with things, I try to put the heavier things passenger side, etc...

Seems to be working. I don't notice a lean.

    oil change...
    weak leaf springs
    ticking heater fan
useless sliding rear window in the 4 door
110v outlet in bed only even though the converter is in the cab
MPG is equal to or worse than the V8's now days
Over priced (this is subjective) for what you are getting or are not getting for that matter compared to other vehicles on the market...

With all that said, these truck are still a lot of fun to drive and if taken care of should last a loooong time

For the price paid, I can't believe that there are no:

    Heater mirrors

Trip computer with mpg/miles to empty (maybe toyota just doesn't want you to be thinking about it...)

    Auto up window switch

    Locking gas cap or door

And there are a few things I'd have paid a few dollars more for:

    Power folding mirrors
    Tailgate lock
    Power rear window
    Heated seats

But overall, I'm pretty damn happy with the thing. And I, like everyone else, wish there was a diesel version available.

Ultimately it's because the 2014's are pretty much the exact same Tacoma they finished building in 2004 and released in 2005. It was nice back then but is sub par nowadays. I imagine most of people complaints like these will probably be fixed on the 3rd gen.

Love my truck. Yah ok a v6 that gets crappier gas mileage than a V8 sucks but if I was looking for fuel economy I wouldn't have got a truck. There really is only one thing that I hate about this truck. Payload. DCLB has a payload of 1050lbs. With 4 adults in the cab and a full tank of gas I can't legally put anything in the box. The payload rating is only 50 lbs higher than a Camry, yes you read that right. That's beyond pathetic. With airbags in the back suspension I can take a good load in the back but it's not legal due to the sticker on the door. Other than that there isn't anything I don't like about my truck.

The stock radio sucks, and I know most anyone who wants good sound will replace any stock radio, but I am not like that, and this radio sucks bad. Not only that, the bluetooth connectivity sucks and the ipod integration sucks. Really not so bad in a $20k truck- but wait, these trucks cost $30k.

    Mirror heaters would be great.

I am not one for heated seats, does nothing for me. But one thing I really like is air conditioned seats like the F150's have. Boy that is sweet.

    Hot dipped, galvanized frame.
