So just bought a set of 17" FJ wheels to put on my 09 sr5 tacoma. The lug nuts from my stock steelies aren't fitting the FJ wheel. Ive heard of the issues of aftermarket wheels needing special lugs but do FJ alloys need those as well? Or are there special toyota made lug nuts made/needed for these from the stealership?

Also got 255 75 17 BFG MT's on there too, look sick will post pics on stock suspension

Call Advance Auto or Car Quest (or whatever your local automotive store might be) and tell them you need lug nuts for a newer FJ.

Here ya go. You planning on running TPMS or are they already on there??

Just noticed you said 17s I have the 16s team trails but they should fit exactly the same. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm guessing they use the shank style lug nut which are common on Toyota's. Just go to the parts store and buy some.

You are crazy if you pay $4 or $5 for each lugnut. You can get them for .50 Cents a piece at discount tire.

Here in Virginia, TPMS is currently not a part on any type on inspection. But as many techs in the area have said, It will soon change if your came with TPMS and be part of inspection. I could have opted out of TPMS, but Id rather do it now before they make it official.

i went from stock 16" aluminum to 17" FJ Cruisers and they used different lug nuts. had a blow out and went to put on spare and the FJ lugs would not fit properly. had to drive real slow, afraid they would pull thru the steel wheel. went to autozone and bought some acorn style to keep in truck for the spare. as far as your tpms, you can do the pipe bomb trick with the sensors.

wheels interchanged but lug nuts were different types. probably depends on what style wheels, were both 17s. the FJ wheels have a longer shank and my 16s were acorn shaped both wheels hub centric.

i'm on my second tacoma with FJ's. I love the way the look. Show some pics when you get them. You'll only have a problem with the steelie nuts. All of the other rims are thicker and use the same lugs.
