My dad wants to swap his MY11 Tacoma AC 6MT TRD OR for a MY14 DC 5AT Baja. I know they are building them for MY14, but I don't see colors or when they are going to be available. Anyone know?

I only see 2 '13 models. The others that pop up are because Baja, California is listed as the assembly plant. My employee discount is only different by a few hundred bucks between '13 and '14, so may as we'll go with the '14... especially if they offer more colors.

    G'day all,

As one who would have traded my 2011 TX Pro for a 2014 or 2015 Baja, I've sadly found Toyota has discontinued the Baja series; 2013 being the last year for production. Not enough sales being the killer according to Toyota.

I would really like to find I'm wrong.

I realize many on TW have suggested you can build your own Baja for cheaper than Toyota, but knowing the changes to to overall geometry of the vehicle for the Baja suspension I would much rather have Toyota responsible for any anomalies instead of me.

It's only a 2" increase in height. Not really any "anomalies" to worry about there. Throw the $1550 Baja suspension kit on any Taco you want and add your own wheels and tires. No need to trade in and lose thousands to get a similar truck just for the suspension.

Well, my dad wants a different cab and a different transmission primarily. The Baja suspension is just icing on the cake that makes the overall package more enticing than what he has.

According to this press release, from Toyota, the Baja is returning for '14.

edit: just saw there was a similar thread just a few days ago. sorry for clogging up the forum.

Well, the Baja package is now listed on the Tacoma front page on the Toyota site. I called a local dealer and they didn't have any times for when they would arrive.

Why don't you just just order one ? Have you asked the dealer about this option ?

The previous Bajas came out around April-ish.

Called last week and they had no info on the '14 Bajas. Annoying.

    Island - thanks.
