Went through the carwash today and their brushes snapped of my driver's side mirror... luckily they are going to replace it tomorrow.

    Too few to list.
I've heard of carwashes snapping antennas but never side mirrors.

Yep! snapped it right off! It was my favorite carwash too... I guess I will be handwashing from now on or find a touchless one.

They're replacing it for you?? Wow, that's unusual, did you have them folded in? I don't think this is all that rare on mirrors that aren't folded in, but very rare for those that are.

Wash your own truck and that won't happen :D

But seriously, no, that shouldn't happen.

They took my antenna off but did not fold them in... the manger tried to tell me that the mirror had already been replaced once before but I told him it was a brand new truck... he said they had an account with the toyota dealership and he could get the replacement at a discount but asked if I would let him install it and asked if I would split the cost... I told him whatever it took... he just now called me and said he would cover it 100% so I'm cool with that.

A new carwash just opened up near my house. They actually have brushes. I didn't think anyone used those anymore because they would scratch vehicles paint. The last time that I was at a touchless carwash(many moons ago) there was a sign that said, "the company wasn't liable if any damaged occurred to your vehicle". I only trust to do my own vehicles now, wand wash only. I know it's easier, maybe cheaper(maybe not) to do touchless but then again if things like this happen you're going to be the one paying for it, not the company.

If I were the OP I'd get mirrors with turn signals.

I thought about how mirrors and antennas hold up in the washes so thought maybe a snorkel would too, nope. Snapped the ram right off and dented the a-pillar where it attaches.

Good that they are replacing them! I've never heard of a car wash snapping mirrors before though- that's weird!

You should always "Hand Wash cars". Those brushes have seen way too many cars. They prolly got tons of particles and impurities that will scratch your paint.

I was a Service Manager at a Saturn dealership long ago before I got on the Fire Dept. We used to take the antennas off but I never saw a mirror get ripped off like that. When I saw what a car wash like that actually does to the paint... I've never taken one through one.

I hand wash all my cars.
