Looking at used trucks and my (preferred) price range has me looking at vehicles close to the 80k to 100k mile range. Back in the day 100k was considered a lot of miles and lots of maintenance ahead. Is this something to be concerned with. What type of maintenance is mandatory at these miles?

I'm rocking 165,000 miles right now on my 2005 and the only problem that I've had so far is I had to change the battery! All of the manufacturers have come a long way with the longevity of their vehicles. But always remember you are looking at a Toyota truck which are all known for their durability, reliability, and longevity.

Like any other car at 100k, looking at the overall condition should be your guide. We're they 100k hard miles? Pampered miles? Does it seem like all the maintenance was done? Are there records? That said, my father has had 3 toyota trucks that have all easily gone over 250k miles with little more than regular maintenance.

I bought mine with 150,000. Literally, runs like it did when it was brand new. Regular maintenance is the key to longevity.

It would probably be fine, but inspect it thoroughly or have a shop do it for you if you're not mechanically inclined. If everything looks good, I would still change the engine oil and all filters, change the oil in the differentials, transfer case and transmission, and change the spark plugs. I also would not buy a used car that shows any signs that the previous owner didn't keep the interior nice and clean. My theory is if they couldn't douche-out the interior once in a while, they definitely couldn't handle any mechanical issues or basic maintenance.

With regular servicing as per the manual no problem at all. Barely broken in at 100k
