So I found the post that discusses this mod but it appears the videos or whatever were in the post no longer work. Can any buddy post or link me to a how to on this?

Maybe he doesn't know anything about plumbing. I know I don't always remember the correct names of parts.

Easiest place to find a turn-key hose clamp is at an auto parts store. I found they had more of the smaller vehicle sizes as well as actual turn-key versions. If you want to look at walmart or a hardware store, it'll be in the plumbing section. But they are more likely to just have the standard version with a flat head screw instead of a "turn-key."

Yes...a hose clamp. It's a deterrent. It'll take a thief a hell of a lot longer to get a hose clamp off to steal the tailgate than the 10 seconds it would take without it.

Don't use the cheap Auto Zone clamps. They will rust. Get a Mercedes clamp.

The clamp in the photo can be turned so it faces upside down and then can only be removed from underneath .........taking even longer to remove/steal than the way it is positioned.

^^^ You'll be laughing - until next year, when your cheap ass clamp is rusting your tailgate hinge.

If it rusts through, I can swap a tailgate in 25 seconds in a parking lot. :D

 Cheap clamps and replace them once a year.

But, if it were me (and they'd fit)..... I'd have one of these on it.
