Ok so I've searched and searched and cant find what I'm looking for. I have a full size general lee cb radio and was thinking about mounting it to the lower dash under the steering column. I held it up there and it looks tight. I don't want to rip the cb off getting in and out of truck. I was wondering if anyone has mounted a full size cb there and how they like it. Thanks.

I'm not sure there would enough room to mount a full size down there. Not to mention hard to see and operate. I put mine here....

When I had my 1st gen I mounted my cb on the back of the cab like that and hated having to turn around to change the channel or anything. I had to pretty well come to a complete stop to do anything.

I don't really have a problem. I know where all the knobs are so it's a easy as reaching back to adjust. It would be the same if you mounted yours under the steering column. You wouldn't take your eyes of the road, just reach and adjust. The squelch and volume are on the far side so it's not that bad.

I guess that is true. what kind of power/antenna are you running? Looks like a magnet mount in your sig.

wow. I'm running just a little over 100 with a whip. How do you like that Wilson? Does it move much at highway speeds? Where did you run your coax?

Gotta love them galaxys! I always have people/cargo in the backseat and don't know how well that would work.

I love the 1000. Awesome performance. I've never knocked it off, and that includes wheeling, driving at highway speed and knocking it around in drive-thrus and whatnot. It does whistle like a sombitch though. :D I just routed my coax through the rear slider window.
