just bought a 2014 taco and to me it has a lot of overhead noise. this is my first toyota so I don't know much about them. it sounds like a chevy that needs an oil change. I'm planning on calling the dealer and having them check it out. surely this is not normal. any advise would be great. thanks. it's the v6 engine

Welcome to TW! The 1GR is an especially noisy engine. Shim under bucket valve train, 3 timing chains, injectors, etc, all mounted to an all aluminum engine, = noise.

These engines tick and chatter. Very common and nothing to worry about. Take care of the engine and it will last a very long time.

You may be unlucky. My newer 13 doesn't tick or chatter, its quiet. I know noisy valves, I own a honda. Take it to your dealer.
