Traction Issue

2010 Sport DCSB. So I tested out messing with my traction options on my truck and I thought everything was back to normal after holding down the traction buttons for a few seconds and then pressing for them to come back on, but now it seems like my traction control is off as my tires spin when I give it a lot of gas vs when it used to grip or grab like traction control was on. There are no lights on showing that anything is on or off as it used to look as well so I am slightly confused. Did I maybe blow a fuse and didn't know about it. I did install a DD radio a while back and it seems since then I have had this issue and only this problem??

I'm guessing you did shut the truck off and restart it and it's still slipping?

 

oh most definitely its been doing it for a month or longer I just haven't mentioned it.

Are you doing your test on wet pavement?

 

Meaning on the gauge cluster there aren't any lights lit up. Besides when I turn on headlights or engage in 4 wheel drive.

Don't know man. I know mine needs shut off then tunred back on for some functions to reset. You could try Autozone for a code read...it's free.

 

What lights do you expect to be lit up? During normal driving there aren't any. When the pavement is wet it's slick... causes increased tire spin with during heavy acceleration with these light back-end trucks.

 

I thought the traction control would kick in if my tires were slipping while wet? Is this not on all the time unless you turn it off?

This is not happening at all. It is like I have no traction control. Where is the fuse for this?

So this is normal from what yall are saying?

 

If you leave hard on wet roads, expect some tire spin. If you floor it and try to keep them spinning it should activate but a little spin is ok. If you are going around a corner or whatever and try to kick out the ass end I bet it will beep at you cut power.

 

I just tested this in the a.m. being it is raining again and it spun without blinking again and messed with the VSC button some more then tried again and got the blinking VSC its working correct and thank you all for your input

 

Just tested mine on snow. When spinning the rear tires (2WD) i can't get the VSC to kick in while going in a straight line. The minute i get into a turn with the tires spinning the VSC kicks in. Loseing sideways traction triggers it... (slide vs spin.)

 

AHHHHH that makes more sense now because when I have been spinning lately its on an incline while wet giving it a good bit up gas going straight. I tried this morning and I slide a bit when the VSC light blinked on. Makes complete sense now. Thanks
