I use greased lightning under the hood (just don't get it on the exterior paint) the lightly hose it off. once it dries under the hood you can spray all hoses, wire harnesses, plastic covers with a product by Gunk made for sealing ignition wires. I Gives it a brand new look. I've been doing this for years and have had many compliments on the results. I did this to my daughters old car before selling it (228K miles) and the new owner couldn't get over how good it looked.

    1. I soak the engine bay with Simple Green
    2. I let it set for about 20 minutes while I clean the wheels and tires
    3. I then spray the off simple green with a Water Jet Power Washer that hooks to the water hose from Amazon
    4. Then I use coil cleaning brushes to get the hard to reach areas
    5. I then blow it out with compressed air from the air compressor
    6. I then use Adams super VRT dressing

Then you see the results above

H.B. Smith Tools WDX77 High Pressure Hose Nozzle I think this is the one from Amazon.

Easily connects to any garden hose
2 nozzle streams - stream and fan spray
    Measures approx. 2-1/4"H x 1"W x 30"L
Made of stainless steel, aluminum, plastic and brass
Effortlessly blasts away built-up dirt and mold on wood, aluminum, tires, glass and concrete

Is this the stuff the car dealers use for used cars? When ever I have looked at used vehicles on a car lot, the engine bay is always super clean like when the vehicle left the factory, but the engine has a slight glossy look to it?

I am not sure what they use but the Adams VRT is the in and out spray can in the spray form.

There is also the stuff in the spray bottle that I put on a sponge and do the larger plastic parts such as the top engine cover and some hoses and fuse boxes.

I have also used chemical guys undercarrige spray for the engine bay also.

If you want that look...try the spray I talked about above. It will make the engine compartment look showroom new.
