My manual says to replace the plugs on my Tacoma at 30K ONLY if. It's a 1GR-FE engine...my window sticker says 236HP 4.0 V6 DOHC 24V engine w/VVT-i

    2009 SR5 MT access cab....

Had the dealer do the 30k service and my service receipt says nothing about changing the plugs....do I have the 1GR-FE engine? Should the dealer have changed my plugs anyways? Thoughts?

there is a sticker under the hood on the passenger side that should state 1gr-fe
also should be on the fan shroud in the engine bay

Thing is, if you call them on it they'll say they did it but forgot to note it on the receipt. But who knows for sure without actually pulling a plug to verify.

This is why I do my own work. Changing plugs is easy and I know for a fact it's done as well as possible and nothing else is screwed up.

Truth be told, these plugs can go 60k no problem. Maybe you should bargain with these guys for some sort of freebee to compensate.

I just changed mine at 143xxx. They appeared original (I bought the truck at 132xxx, so unsure), gap was quite a bit wider but the truck still ran well. Now I get an extra 1 mpg and smoother idle. So it would appear they'll last well over the 30k.
