    (Besides up my ass lol)

I am looking to get a light bar to aid with seeing at night on the beach. I currently have 2 Dually's mounted on my hood hinges and they are pretty much worthless at night on the beach. They are good for driving through the woods.

I believe my 2 options I would go with are a bar on the roof, or one in the slot in the bumper (2012).

What are your thoughts? Does a light over the roof add too much glare and basically wash out like my Dually's?

    Thanks guys.

    Duallys blow. Get d2's.

Higher the light the more spread you will have. Use duallys as side flood lights. Light bar on roof.

I've learned this about the duallys. I'll demote them to bed lights or something. I would have gotten the D2 if they had them at the show.

    Thanks for your input.

I think this is the best way to go for your needs. Throw one of the new SR2 series lights in there and you'd be rocking.

I haven't seen a light bar yet I liked for the 2012 and newer models. They all mount too low placing the lights right in front of the bumper. I want one where the mounting bar is above the bumper so the lights are in front of the grill. Still waiting.
I might buy one of those low bar ones and custom make some new side brackets taller then the stock ones.

Get a light bar like a Westin or smittybuilt and mount the light bar on that

I know mine is a 1st gen, but this will give you a generic idea of what it might look like. I used the CARR Rotating light bar, which is slightly higher, but they also have a low profile light bar for the Tacoma as well (1st and 2nd gen). Now because of the angle of the photo this bar LOOKS like it is a lot taller than it is. I have exactly ZERO glare off my windshield.

These are the different ones made by CARR.

OP make a build thread. Seen many of your threads, but no pics of your truck!

FOr the pricing of D2's 379 and the D's 199 you already have. thats roughly 600...

SR2 30" is 899 - they could probably make it in a Yellow for you.

SR in Yellow 30" is 799.

That would keep you in the light properly.

    E2 50" roof
SR or SR2 30" Yellow for the bumper
D2 hood. <- really, you could eliminate these from the build all together and save that money.

Even another idea. They can make the 50" in a COMBO - YELLOW and WHITE>..

They make a grille that houses a 20inch LED bar. Believe RI makes it. Or maybe black diamond fab. Expensive but looks sweet
