I have read several older threads on here about polishing headlights; but looking for actual, real life experiences, of the products on the market.

Which products worked best for you?

Did you have to do anything different than the instructions on the cleaner?

No problem with moisture inside the lights; just a film on the outside.

I used the 3M kit on my mom's Buick and as noted above, it only looks good for a short period. I waxed them the first time and then clear coated them the second; the clear coat lasted longer, but still not that great in my experience. My 2005 headlights are starting to fog and I'll probably just replace them- I despise the new plastic headlights and would love to be able to retrofit some glass lens style lights.

3m kit works really well. Lasted about 6 months. Will last this long for sure if done well.

there are 2 options for you, polish the headlights and put on a sealer or wax and have them haze in another year...or remove them from the truck and prep them properly and either clearcoat them or use SEM solar ray uv headlight repair...if you are going to polish and seal them i would first start out wetsanding with 800 grit to remove the oxidation, once the oxidation is 100% removed work your way up to 3000 grit and then compound, then polish, then clean them with dawn and finally grease and tar remover...then apply a good sealant or a protective film like lamin-x....this will work pretty good but for a more permanent solution i would go with the sem solar ray....do you have a buffer? or just a drill?

the most crucial aspect of headlight renewal is the complete removal of the oxidation....the next most important is protecting the renewed headlights....i would go with the sem product....it is awesome.
