I've been on the lookout for a top notch jerry can for quite some time now. I got the RotoPax 4 Gallon and mounted it to the inside of the tail gate. It works very well, but expands far too much for my liking, so will only use that when actually going on a planned excursion.

I wanted to have on hand a rock solid gas can that I can just add a little STABIL to and leave it be until needed in the event of an emergency.

I saw the USGI Scepters on e bay for upwards of $100 and then some, though figured those would expand too much as well, and far too expensive for me.

I recently came across brand new 20L NATO "style" Jerry Cans for $50 a piece. These are the best i've seen so far. I got a can in the mail on Friday and it far exceeded my expectations.

I got it online from deutsch optik, and ended the everlasting quest for the perfect jerry can. Now I just need a decent storage mount for it.

If those are the cans sold by Deutsche Optik they are top notch. They're not cheap at $50/can but they are very well made. Lexington Container appears to sell the same can for a few dollars less but I haven't tried those yet.

I've been using the NATO Jerry cans from Deutsche Optik for years and I recommend them. Beware - there are a LOT of fakes on the market.
Folks will chime in and claim that another source has the same can for less money, don't believe it! Most of the cheaper NATO "style" cans are made from thinner metal, aren't coated inside or have a raised seem where the two halves join.
    Good find !

As for a mount, I think you're best bet it to make one or have someone make one for you. Most of the mounts I've seen are junk.

I found a mount at Armour Tech Offroad, but its over $100...I know it's good quality, but can't justify the purchase, so am having one of staff engineers fab one up for me at work this coming weekend.
