I have a 2014 Tacoma, 4x4, access cab, 4cyl 5spd. It is only two months old and has a serious vibration at highway speeds over 60 mph. The vibration can be felt in the steering wheel, and can be seen in the passenger seat and shift knob shaking. I took it to the dealer and all they did was reblance the front tires, they did not fix the problem. My last one was an 06 TRD, that was smooth as glass on the highway, kinda of sorry I traded it in. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know, as a brand new truck should not have this problem. Thank you very much in advance.

If you have the Dunlop tires they do that when cold. Flat spots. They have a nylon ply in them. Living in Boston they may not get very warm unless you drive several miles at higher speeds.

Had same problem with my 12. Posted here in past. WV150 is correct, tire flat spotting. Raise tire pressure to 34 t0 36 psi and your problem should be gone. Work for mine and others here, with same problem.

New truck? Doesn't matter, once you leave the Toyota Dealership with your new truck you must take the truck to the tire manufacturer for repair. That's the way it is. :(

Not true. I had issues with wheel shakes on my 2012 and the dealer replaced 2 of my tires for me after taking back it 2-3 times for wheel balance issues.

Look at the time and money it's costing the new car dealers to F with it.

If you just get the tire manufacturer to fix it you'd be done. If you have the time to sit in car dealerships all day, I guess that's your business.

    Hi Guys

Here's my story I have a 2014 TRD Double cab long bed with Brigs-tone Duelers
with only 450 miles and steering has started vibrating and shaking slightly off and on.

I just traded in a 2012 with same issue but it had Dunlops, after taking the advice of a another member on this forum , I test the 2014 for 20 miles and it was smooth as silk, so I bought it now I feel like an idiot thinking I would get one with no shake.I was going to buy a GMC sierra but at $50.000 it wasn't an option.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this after going the rounds with the dealership on my 2012 and never getting issued solved I feel like I'm going to have to live with it at least until it get a lot worse if it does.

I'm thinking of trying to check tire pressure and see if that helps.

Have a 2013. My truck does this every morning when I hit exactly 60 mph. Then seems to disappear after sometime. Still running stock bridgestones with 30lbs of pressure.

Definitely continue going back. Get it documented, have one of the 15 year old grease monkey's take it for a ride with you in the truck.

Thanks guys for input, we must idiots to keep buying these truck with this constant issue. I know one thing for sure this is my last Tacoma I only wish
Toyota would open their eyes and see that there is an on going issue with the
    Tacoma's and solve it.

I can remember back many years ago when customers mattered, and just think if returns were offered I bet customers would jump at the chance.

On a positive the Bridge-stones ride whole a lot better then the Dunlops, I just
my tire pressure thinking they were low and which give them the nice ride but nope mine our at 36psi

no. Tacomas have fewer issues than anything else in it's category. You only think it has a ton because on these forums, which consists of a very very small percentage of overall Tacoma owners, most of the posts are about Problems to Resolve. It skews the perspective. Some things are chronic and then we get recalls or TSB's. but everything else is just the law of averages when you think about the sheer number of Tacomas out there.

FYI -- the factory warranty covers alignment and tire balance up to 12,000 miles. My '14 was shaking bad at ~10k miles. I brought it in and they did a balance and alignment under warranty and now it runs quite smooth.

Weird, 2014, Double Cab, PreRunner, Smooth as glass at any speed. Then again I sold a 2013 F-150, with all kinds of clunks, bumps and vibes, so I may be immune to any vibes known with 2nd gen Tacoma's?

My 2014 started out smooth but now has driveline vibes I can feel in floor board, brake and steering wheel. Vibes are 5mph - 25mph like others. Just turned 12k and these vibes are making me hate the truck. I got a nice set of American racing rims w BF goodrich rugged terrain tires and they are not better then the stock steel wheels except they make the truck look really sweet.

Am I being too OCD or do just get used to it???? Sounds like not many fixes out there.
