im 6'2" and I dont fit in my brother inlaws 2010 4 door wrangler if i sit behind him and he is 5'10". My coworker can sit comfortably behind me in my 07 dc tacoma and he's 6'4".

Hope it works out for you though the new style wranglers are very capable off the lot and can be built really nice for pretty cheap compared to my tacoma.

Exactly the point I was trying to make. I have no issues with jeeps...they're just not known for interior space, but as others have said the OP knows what suits his needs better than anyone here.

The rear seats on the JKU have 4" more leg room than the Tacoma 4 door.

Enjoy your new Jeep! A friend recently picked one up and has lifted it and put some nice wheels and tires on it and a bit of armor. Maybe a bumper & winch next and done.
It's her first 4x4 and it's seen a bunch of use already. Nice vehicle.

Certainly doesnt seem like it when my knees are jammed into the back of the front seat.

Good luck with the Jeep. You don't have to leave, plenty of people stay even though they got a different ride.

Lol could be bit I doubt it. I hope it works out for him though. Besides the 3.8 being gutless and the new 3.6 being locked down like crazy they are nice once modded. My local fab shop just did a ls swap on one, sooo much nicer.

3.6 isn't locked down anymore. Lots of programmers are out for it, allowing all sorts of tunes.

We had the 3.6 in our VW Routan (Rebadged Dodge minivan), and I really liked the motor. We didn't have it for all that long, only about 15000 miles and a couple years. The only issue we had was the alternator going out at about 14000 miles. The rest of the fit/finish of the van was pretty bad. We had a bunch of interior pieces popping loose all the time.

I probably would have gone with the Jeep myself, but the rear seat is too narrow. I have two car seats back there, and occasionally my oldest sits back there in her booster.

I owned a 2001 Jeep Cherokee Sport and a 2005 Grand Cherokee at the same time... The 2005 Grand Cherokee was so bad that I traded them both in for a new 2010 Tacoma. I miss my 2001 Cherokee Sport! The Tacoma is a great truck though. Not one single problem with it! I bought my wife a new Wrangler JK 2 door in 2008. It was horrible! It spent 6 months out of the first year of ownership at the dealer! We immediately traded it in for a new 2010.....*cough*... Prius!!! The Prius was a great car for the wife until we moved to Kansas. We traded the Prius in for another Jeep JK 2 door (2012). The 2012 JK has been a great Jeep so far! I feel that the Tacoma is the most reliable truck you can buy, but the JK is sure fun when the sun is out, or the snow is flying! I highly recommend having both!

I agree bshack. Only add that its an apples to oranges comparison. I look forward to the day when I own another jeep and this time I will have my tacoma too.

I had a 1995 cherokee sport. straight 6 manual tranny and it was a blast. my 2010 wrangler was great when the top and doors were off and that thing would go anywhere. my 2003 tacoma was the best vehicle Ive ever owned. I guess variety is the spice of life

Thanks for the heads up guys. My taco is ultra reliable, but I have had some issues with it also..I would never bash my taco (named Chuck, as in..Norris), but it has had issues with build quality. look, I daily drive, jobs change, I have 3 kids, we can't go wheeling in it, because physically, we don't all fit. priced out the way I would like, the DC is a bit more $.
But yes, it has never let me down. As far as being flamed, I'm tougher skinned than that. Your right, moderator. I know what is good for me. Family of 5, all over 6 feet, and we fit...
Signed on a 2014, limited slip, manual, hard top, 4 miles on it.
    Pick it up tomorrow..
By the way, I am going to take some stuff off the taco..anyone want the fog light blanks? Or the camera connector wire for the backup camera, or a console organizer that I made? Let me know..
And thanks again guys. You have some really knowledgeable people here..

Not with any more comfort than the Tacoma. Only thing the JKU has, is more rear legroom.
