I bought an "add-a-fuse" to quickly give me power for my iPhone (See

Picture). the problem is it stopped working after about a day. i took the unit and

tried touching the leads directly to the battery and it worked fine, so I'm confused

as to why it won't power up when plugged in to the fuse box. yes the car is on

when its in the fuse box. I have also tried the different unused fuse spots on the

fuse box. I'm not to car savy, so at this point I'm out of ideas as to why I'm not

getting power from the fuse box when the car starts fine and all the lights and

windows work. figured id ask the geniuses.

Do you have a voltmeter? If so maker sure the unused fuse position even has power. A lot of times the unused fuse holder will not have power. Get an Add a fuse and connect it to an already existing fuse.

yes, i do have a voltmeter, but the thing is the charger was working previously, so I'm wondering what would have caused it to lose power?

i guess the next thing I'm going to try is to take out a fuse that i know has been working and see if the "add a fuse" is working in that one to maybe see if it is just a contact issue.

Does it read continuity with your meter from one end to the other on the add a fuse? If so, then it simply isn't being connected to a proper hot and ground.

In your picture, what is the black thing where the red and white wire come together? 12v outlet? I can't make it out. If it is you won't have continuity between the 2 wires. I originally thought you were talking about a phone charger transformer.
